A new Omega Speedmaster Pro (aka The Moonwatch) with manual winding movement has a MRP of 2.92 Lacs at present (but discounts around the ballpark of 20% can be had normally).
One good thing about the Speedmaster is that a little has changed with the watch over the years - it still uses the same case and almost the same movement which were in use, say, 50 years back. So, I highly doubt that Omega's official service centers are unable to service/repair the watch (most probably it is the dealers who are jutting out the crap regarding it being irrepairable as they are more interested in sales).
Would suggest you to contact the Omega/Swatch group service center located in Saket, Delhi (address available on the Omega website) and I am sure they will be able to take care of the watch.
In fact, a Speedmaster of 1974 vintage is worth much more than its current MRP (collectors appreciate it for the patina which builds up on the lume markers and dial, etc.)
P.S. - Would love to see a picture of your watch.

Arindam: Dont you think these look just gorgeous?

Arindam:
Some serious negotiations are happening on this one...
Let us see how they pan out.

Bang on sir, all of these look stunning. However,I would be partial to this Titoni as well among the ones listed (not to take anything away from the beautiful Globemaster). To me, a clean watch face with minimal complications, will always remain the quintessential grail watch. Great choice!
Are you negotiating with Ethos? They seem to be pretty proactive when it comes to trying and giving a fair price to a genuinely interested customer. Hope you are able to pull the trigger on this one:D

Yes. Indeed it is an elegant and functional product. No doubt about it at all.
If anyone is looking to buy prestige or luxury, this is certainly a good time.
Because of GST which will make all these products go up in price by a clean 14-15%.
Today the VAT is 14.5% plus cess and all that.
On July 1st we are talking 28% plus for luxury goods.
India ( basis my personal research) is by far the cheapest place to buy first class luxury watches brand new. Better prices than Dubai, Singapore, UK, USA, Germany, Australia, Malaysia etc.
However, once GST kicks in, this advantage will be lost.
Ethos is a good retailer. Authentic products. Guarantees. Servicing. Fair and equitable pricing.
Pulling the trigger. Under deep consideration. Yes. The Titoni Seascoper is in my sights right now.
One day, I shall hope for that Globemaster and that Milgauss but not now.
So Arindam:
I have pulled the trigger and hit the Bull's eye this fine morning at Ethos Forum.
The gorgeous Titoni Seascoper Automatic is now on my wrist.
And what a watch! At what a fantastic price!
Very well worth it, considering the MRP of 102000/- and the superfantabulous price I was able to negotiate it down to!
But with this I am knocking away the Blue Dial Orient. I shall wait and get the same
one you have.
I managed to grab the same watch you did Arindam . The Orient with blue hands and brown mock croc leather strap.
Pleased as punch!
Amazon Global Store. Decent price.

Fantastic, you seem to be on a timepiece -purchasing roll. Super stuff. The Titoni is indeed lovely, and I see it comes with a deployment clasp as well. Nice! From the looks of it, Im sure it will look equally at ease in both formal as well as dressed down situations. The brushed lugs and side bezels look fantastic. I love watches which have this sort of in-built versatility.
Ah, you managed to grab the Orient Bambino Ver 2 as well. Awesome. I see its back in stock now. Prices seem to vary very frequently on the Amazon Global store, I wonder why that is. Anyways, this is an acquisition that I am sure you will not regret. The Bambino is now my everyday work watch, and given the fact that my profession entails formal dressing all the time, its a perfect fit. Enjoy both the beauties!

Do have a chat with Ethos for some
Good deals on account of GST implementation and rise in tax rates.
Picked this one today. Looks different because of contrast between band and face.

Congrats, thats a very nice looking watch! MRP shown on the Ethos website is 94k, have the prices officially reduced?
https://www.ethoswatches.com/product...rb-rb-517.html
I was wondering how much of a discount you managed to get from Ethos?
Although I already have 4 watches, was thinking of buying one more before July as you rightly said GST kicks in and prices of watches will go up which some newspapers have also reported.

There was one lot procured at a price resulting in an MRP of 94K and another lot at 102K.
I got a 36% odd, off and bought it at 65K.
Next one is an Orient via Amazon and after that comes this Oris.
Then slowly the Rolex and Omega Globemaster. Thats the evil plan!
I just love great looking classic automatic watches.

I "own" three. 1. The one I wear - a fit bit charge HR. 2. The thinnest watch from TITAN - sitting somewhere in an obscure corner of my cupboard since the strap broke several years back. 3. A golden colored TITAN watch - a gift but I found it too much apart from my fashion sense and now my dad wears it :-)
