But I don't see high fat in it.
Fish is low fat, veggies are ultra low fat!
The plate is simply low calories.

Zero wheat though.

Did you compare your TSH, T3 and T4 levels before and after the low carb diet? Just for information purpose

Thyroxine most probably.

Actually the synthesized version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levothyroxine

The fish is fried in coconut oil. The vegetables sauteed in coconut oil. My daily breakfast is simply two whole eggs pan fried in ghee, and folded over a slice of cheese.

Why?
My diet is not a strict LCHF diet. It is a more Anti-Wheat diet.

The blood donation center sent me my Platelet and Hemoglobin counts both of which were very normal.

Anyways I quickly googled on the effects of this hormone:

Hypothyroid Symptoms
High TSH and an underactive thyroid produce a myriad of symptoms. WomenToWomen.com explains hypothyroidism and TSH levels and describes the symptoms of this condition. You may experience chilliness or sluggishness or feel weak, depressed and tired, symptoms often labeled as chronic fatigue syndrome. You may have problems thinking and with cognitive functions, have difficulty breathing or experience muscle cramps with vague or specific joint pain. You may be plagued with uncontrollable weight gain, dry skin, constipation, menstrual problems, hot flashes, PMS, increased menstrual flow or have a miscarriage or be diagnosed with infertility.
I can positively state that I am not experiencing any of those symptoms. :D

Not sure if that much is enough fat to qualify as (low carb + high fat).
True LCHF would be the one where calorific value remains the same as earlier, but instead of carbs, one uses fats to fuel his body.

That means instead of 2 cups of rice, one drinks 1 cup of oil, while keeping the meat content roughly the same.

Right now, the diet is looking more like a low calorie diet with severe restrictions in the calorie intake.

As I said, it is more for record purpose.
Long term effects of carb depletion in diet.

This makes no sense:
1 cup of oil (216 g) is almost 2000 calories.
2 cups of rice (300 g) is just 400 calories.

Any vegans here.

Nice to see healthy debates regarding various diets, lot of my friends are showing interest in Paleo diet. That too is LCHF diet, I think.

I am planing to go the vegan route, purely because of ethical concern. I believe there is no perfect diet out there, one has tailor their own based on availability, preferences etc.

The injection which the doctor has recommended is Trulicity (Dulaglutide). My BIL is borderline diabetic, quite overweight, and has a bad lifestyle (i.e. no exercise, no diet control).

I was not talking about 2 cups of cooked rice - which amounts to hardly anything to live by (as you have yourself put)! Even a toddler will have higher intake of food than that!!

In any case, my point was quite clear, replace carbs with fats = LCHF

Otherwise if someone reduces calories by cutting carbs but not increasing the fats then it is plain calorie reduction and one has not followed the ceteris paribus principle.

From their website, Trulicity is used to treat Type 2 diabetes. It does something to control sugar release from liver and also triggers the pancreas in insulin secretion. This does not solve the root cause.

If your BIL is borderline diabetic, this is the right time to bring diet under control. He could easily get back to health with some disciplined dieting.

Absolutely, most of the lifestyle diseases can be solved via disciplined diet and well, healthier lifestyle.

The problem with a Keto diet is that you generally have to cook on a daily basis. But sometimes you know you want to be lazy even before the week starts.

This is one such dish. A large chicken with skin cut into 8 pieces.
Into a pressure cooker with some salt, herbs, spices and butter. NO WATER.

Cook on low flame with the cooker closed but no weight on its lid.
1 hour.
Then remove chicken and grill it on a pan at high heat.
The left over fatty sauce in the cooker can be reduced to a consistency you like.

In a fridge you can store the sauce and chicken but keep them in separate containers.

When hungry just warm them both.

I think one of the happiest moments in the diet is when you get to make a new hole in the belt because your pants are getting very loose.

Recorded my lowest weight of 90.3 kgs.
Absolutely love this diet though I do miss the ability to just pop a couple of biscuits and get over the hunger pangs.

My diet as of now is still without any wheat, ragi or any cereal. I have removed oats as well because I don't need its fiber.
Rice is very occasionally added in simply for its convenience.

Meals are eggs, fish, chicken and meats.
I do eat a good amount of vegetables. But try and avoid potatoes.

Earlier I was avoiding fruits like oranges because they are rich in carbs. But I love them too much and I am not going to remove them from my diet. In fact anything that I can eat raw, I will continue to eat without bothering about its nutritional content.

Nice idea. I generally bake chicken in the oven, using olive oil instead of butter. But i used to throw away the fatty sauce. Now I am going to use your idea to save it for later :thumbs up

That is loaded with flavor. Simply add it instead of stock to any curry you are cooking.
I used it as the medium to roast potatoes and they were amazing.

In June I bought an Omron device to measure fat percentage, and found my body fat was 33% and visceral fat was 17%. That was the first time I heard about visceral fat. The following article says it is the most dangerous kind of fat.

https://health.spectator.co.uk/the-i...get-rid-of-it/

Now I am at 79Kg after 3 months of LCHF lifestyle. The visceral fat is down to 13%, but body fat is still stuck at 33%. But I am glad it is the visceral fat that is down, because my pants are much looser and I had move one hole up in my belt. That is about 1.5 inches.

His recommendation matches exactly with LCHF lifestyle.
