Dogs sunbathing on car roof - Help !!

Hi People,

I have a peculiar problem in my locailty. The stray dogs here are very annoying. Moreoever, they climb onto the car roofs and sleep.

Pros:-
Car secured - no need to worry

Cons:-
Roof caves in
Paint gets damaged

I am more worried about the cons are i fear that the paint on bonnet will be damaged when they run and climb the cars.

Pls help me out with this problem. They just do not understand!

Regards,

PS:- A sample snap for what i say is true

Or prop a stick inside the car so that the roof doesnt cave in ! On a more serious note, I guess you can also think of using a good quality car cover and spray some neem on the top of it so that the dogs don't make it their slumber place !

I see that there is a garbage bin nearby. it attracts the stray dogs
if possible move the garbage bin away from the areas where cars are parked.

get the stray dog catching squad from the the municipality to cath these stray dogs and move them to their safe homes

Strange and very funny thing. Till now only cats used to do so (see the pic). Guess now dogs have found a way to securely take a nap without disturbing or being disturbed by anyone.
Spray some kind of thing which the dog doesn't likes. At least cover your car so that the paint doesn't get damaged. BTW i wonder how do they climb up the roof of a van.

On a harsher note, I would think of chasing the dogs from the location! If thats not possible, then use a car cover ( the rexine ones work well for most dogs, IMO).
Aren't there any watchmen around the area who could look out for such dogs? If its always 1-2 dogs, its just a stubborn mutt that needs to be dealt with.

I think the dog is sunning himself! Will not be possible in summer as the roof will be red hot!

If possible, pour ice water on the dog from your balcony when it is sleeping. This will be very annoying to the dog and it will go somewhere else after a few episodes.

I may sound funny but it works. Dogs are **** scared of tiger's **** (or for that matter i think any large cat's). just get some from the zoo and keep in it the vicinity. google it!!

this is a trick a lot of thieves use in villages/towns to rob houses with dogs.

I dunno if this will work, but it's worth a try.

Spray a lot of strong deodorant on the roof (like axe or something). Maybe the dogs won't like the smell. Or perhaps they'll like it more!

Axe is a bad idea! The dog will get mobbed by bitches and the roof will get many more dents and scratch marks as a result of vigorous doggie style action !

Jokes apart, I think the most humane way is to keep a squirt gun, and spray some water on the dog shoo it away. After you do this a few times the dog will get the message and stay away from your car.
