I am in gurgaon, so maybe airtels plans here are different than in Delhi.

I have subscribed to their 256MB plan. Its been some time now, but at that time, they did not have a 512plan for home users.
Has that changed now?
Also also, the 256 that they gave me is actually 1:4 whcih means I shall get anything between 64kbps and 256kbps, depending on how the other users are using the connection at a given time. Has that changed as well?

256kbps unlimited 999/month
Thats airtel for you.
I am on BSNL 512kbps 1800/mo, but not unlimited
Its unlimited between 2am and 8am.
I get 60-70KBps
since you are at 3-5kBps, the 25-30KBps(256kbps) on airtel will be good enough for ya.

I think Airtel is not available in Mumbai. Try iGATE if it is available in your area.
