IIPM - fraud?

Could someone please let me know about the status of IIPMs - whether their certificate courses are really "better than MBA" or if its all just a well designed fraud?

1> Degree not recognized in India
2> 'Prof' is a gold medalist from his fathers university - incidentally called IIPM
3> Double digit crore marketing budget silences most newspaper probes
4> Phoren universities artfully mentioned in ads scream they are not affiliated

You decide...

The guy's been smart enough to make some money while at it...and in the movie business too recently...he's a businessman...obviously not someone who cares whether India's billion people get educated or not.

I am sure you must have noticed the all abusive words are displayed as asterix (***) on team-bhp.

The same treatment was given to IIPM on arguably India's biggest MBA discussion forum - pagalguy.

LoL ,am about to complete my MBA from IIPM.
Yes its not at par with your average/typical MBA college but they do have some good courses and faculty.
Rest nobody's holding a gun to anybody`s head ,in the end its your decision.

IIPM is not a management college its a multi million dollar business run by Mr BLUE BENTLEY. They provide world class facilities, call Shahrukh to host a quiz and give you a free laptop (hahaha with the fee they charge i wont be surprised if they gift out laptops with blue ray disk writers) but dammit between all that they forget to teach anything. The first impression one gets when someone tells him "I am from IIPM" is management seat + dad ka business hi sambhalna hoga, degree to formality hai. Have heard of people paying to join IIPM, paying to get required attendance, paying for projects and finally paying to get the paper leaked. Whats the point??
If it was a good college it would not need full page newspaper ads to survive.
Just my opinion.
There are always exceptions ( i just dont happen know any).

Well i don't belong to that category and infact i know alot of people who have taken an education loan to pay the fees.

Neither me nor any of my friends (some even had good contacts) heard anything like this ,heck i would have cleared all my papers then.!!

Am not trying to defend IIPM but don't just go by hearsay guys.

Welcome to real life!

These (mal)practices are pretty common in B-grade B schools, where the peon would leak the paper for a mere 500 bucks. When I was studying, one of my friends (from another institute) actually went to professor's home with a bottle of scotch to pass his statistics paper.. and guess what..he actually passed the exam just by appearing. He wrote the answersheet at prof's home.

I mean come on...its not an IAS paper, where one has to be concerned so much. Its just a business!

thanks a lot everybody! This guy owns a very niche business doesn't he? Aren't there supposed to be government departments to watch out for this? Like they usually have a committee for everything ..
