Guys, lets keep the discussion limited to the World Cup only. All off-topic posts will now be deleted

Now coming back to the topic, Seeing the match yesterday was like watching synchronized swimming happening. Before the match I wanted Germany to win, but the first 30 minutes proved that the Spanish were playing "the beautifull game" and the Germans were just chasing shadows. Spanish deserved to win and I am happy that the better team (that day atleast) won the game.

Exactly the way I thought.

I was pro-Germany because of the way they defeated Argentina and also because it is a country where I lived for more than a year, but 20 minutes into yesterday's game I figured out that they are already playing like they have been defeated.

Both Spain and Netherlands play in workman-like style. Final may again prove to be more tactical and less entertaining.

Netherlands' defense looks more weaker of the two.

Whatever one may say- the media and the football community(read experts) worldwide have been excited at the way germans have provided quality games in this cup(except a couple incl the Semis) The way the young guns have shown what is team work, great counter attacks and most important of all scoring goals. Surprised that if they lost this match- that too against tournament favs spain, people are questioning their ability to play soccer!
A team that has more than half of the players in their first WC and that too semis and without their midfielder, is sure to be nervous and thats what it showed up
Lets give credit to those who deserve on merit and performance and not based on our loyalty all the time.
Spain has reached here, they have done enough, but just bare enough to reach here, no comprehensive win(based on the scoreline) though they have had most of the possession in all their games.

Sorry to differ. Spain's game is far from workman style, it is a much more beautiful way of playing. Only problem is that unlike the earlier similar styled Brazil teams they are not very incisive right up front. It is possible to break Spains rythm, since they rely on one-touch football and smart passing and once Dutch get the hang of it they can break it.

The Dutch have started playing the earlier German workman style football and I think it will be tough for Spain to break the Dutch resilience. I think this Dutch team is one of the most boring but effective teams quite different from the Euro 98 team coached by van Basten

Since there is not going to be Octopus support for Spain, i think i need to rely on prayers more :)

I Agree 100% to what mkh has said above. I should thank Germany for all the entertaining games

Germany's midfield was effectively nullified by the passing game bewteen Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi Alondo and Pedro. Schweinsteiger and Ozil seemed mesmerized by this and could hardly get any possession. Germany scored 8 goals in the last two games, but could not get even a single one in yesterday.

Watch out Spain as Netherlands does not do that kind of rubbish.

What! Robben and Van Persie are two of the most selfish players you can even see on the field.

@Gilead - Correct. But the Dutch always had this tendency, except perhaps Kluivert.

Pedro made one dumb move and people are just not able to forgive him for that and look at the wonderful game he played prior to that. :) He was a constant headache to the German defence

Dhanyawaad! Since the big wigs are out, the game will not be important for me but the results and post celebrations with Shakira will be something to watch for. That is a nutty dress she got herself for the WC.

If history repeats itself then Holland will lose a 3rd final. But the world cup's habit of switching between Europe and South America every four years, since 1962, has been broken.

Where is Paul the psychic octopus? What is he saying?.. :-)

Spain were favs before the cup- so they are BIG wigs for sure. As for her dress, at least she got one(namesake!)
