Would anyone know what is the ETA for processing an add-on card?
How do I know if it is approved/rejected?
Is there a way to ask for my application status?

Why not just do it on the HDFC website. It is quiet easy to do and automatic.

This is possible only if the add-on member too is HDFC bank customer and has customer id.

I applied for an add-on Infinia card for my wife and I received the add-on with a different card number. However, I’m not able to add it to mycard section despite activating the pin at an ATM.

I’ve been discussing this with the Infinia support team since three weeks, but they are not able to provide a solution despite fulfilling their requests for screenshots with timestamps and a video.

A user at technofino suggested that it could be an issue with the phone number, but I tried it with both mine as well as my wife’s phone number and the result was the same.

Would anyone have suggestions as to how I can resolve this? Thanks in advance!

Does applying for a Magnus (not with Burgandy) still make sense after all the devaluation if you already have an Infinia?

The rate of return seems to be lower, conversion to air miles etc, is not as rewarding, correct? Anything benefit on Magnus that would make sense to have it in addition to your infinia?

Does owning another CC make any sense for infinia holders? If yes, then which one? Not adding any spend or criteria from my end as I would like to hear opinions without any preset bias. Thanks!

Hey guys,

The regular points for my Magnus card have not been credited for the last 12 days or so.

I just spoke on their helpline and they're saying that they haven't been able to credit the points of all Magnus cards since the 10th of July and that the issue would get resolved around the 2nd week of August! Is this true for other Magnus cardholders here too? :Shockked:

I had Magnus but closed it in Feb before renewal because didn’t find it worth after the changes.
My primary cards right now are Infinia and Amex Trifecta (PlatTravel/MRCC/Gold).

Other cards holding, but used rarely:
HDFC Tata Neu Rupay (for UPI)
ICICI APay (used only once a year to keep it active)
Axis Horizon and Rewards (migrated from Citi - may consider converting one of these to Atlas before next year renewal)

Well, I haven't received rewards since Jun 27 (Txn date: Jun 25), in April also same had happened. This is IndianOil RuPay Credit card. It seems they are making some changes and it is taking time to credit reward points across multiple cards. When I raised issue they gave a deadline of Jul 31, but no rewards credited till now.

They are now charging surcharge on Fuel Credit Card UPI transactions too!!!

After the second devaluation (removal of M&G, BMS etc.) Magnus doesn't make sense for pretty much anyone. There is very little to justify the 10k renewal fees.

Could you please share the documented steps that you followed to request for an upgrade to Infinia?

So what's the best path to get an upgrade to Infinia? Does anybody know what the internal criteria for this is?. :coldsweat

Finally my upgrade request to Infinia has been accepted. For existing card upgrades, they don't seem to care about the income criteria, as all my previous requests were rejected despite satisfying the income criteria. All they seem to care is the existing credit limit (mine is 10L+) and 7.5L+ spends in the last 6 months. In my case, during the last 6 months or so, I was able to reach 8-9L of spends and sure enough my upgrade request was accepted this time.

I guess, if you need to get the Infinia based on income, you'd need to close your card and apply for a fresh one.

I had also reached out to an HDFC RM who was offerring Infinia upgrades through reddit, but only after reaching out to him, got to know that this was just a tactic to get people to make ULIP investments. The RM and few other officers seem to work as a team, they talk really well and tries to sell the Infinia. After that they claim to check for internal approvals and comes back with an "offer" to upgrade, all I need to do is signup for a ULIP for atleast 2.5L PA and my upgrade would be immediately processed. They even offer EMIs for the initial payment. :coldsweat Also talks with an urgency like I need to do it immediately else I will miss out so much to install a FOMO and even walked me through the ULIP signup flow on their website. Please avoid such RMs.

Can you guys please suggest the best mix of cards for my usage? I would really appreciate the help.

Context:
-I have no CIBIL yet, came back from the US only last year. Never had any other cards or loans.
-My current income is upwards of 1.5L/month.
-Currently have savings account in ICICI and SBI.

Usage:
-Online spends (Blinkit, Amazon, Zomato, BookmyShow)
-Domestic Flights
-Restaurants.

I don't really shop a lot and don't have any utility payments. Back in the states I used to keep a trusty Amex Gold card for these type of spends and was able to extract insane value out of it. Credit card schemes in India seem more complex and the approval process seems to be arbitrary as well, so having a bit of a struggle which one I should be getting. I tried getting a Millennia card from HDFC but they tried to get me to deposit 5L with them which I didn't want to do.

If you had an amex and have a decent credit score abroad, amex has a program where you will be able to get a card in India as well. Other banks will not give you good cards even if you qualify income wise without a credit history.

I received an email about new HDFC Bank credit card rules from August 1st, 2024. I am not sure whether these rules apply to all HDFC credit cards or only to the Infinia card.

Also, my infinia card credit limit was increased from 8 lakhs to 11.33 lakhs. Is anyone using an Infinia card to pay rent?

Applicable to all HDFC cards AFAIK. Personally I feel these are for the greater good.

I used to pay rent via Infinia, but we don't get any points for paying rent, and you also have to pay charges, doesn't make sense and I pay directly via UPI or bank transfer

I use BoB Eterna to pay my apartment maintenance charges. I registered with RedGirraffe which offers rent/maintenance payment for a very small fee, 0.39% plus GST ~ 0.46%. I load the amount to PayZapp Wallet through BoB Eterna (3.75% reward rate, can be redeemed as cash credit), and make the payment from the wallet. PayZapp doesn't charge any fee for loading the wallet, and BoB Eterna gives 3.75% rewards for these transactions upto Rs 33k per month.

Net positive, and will also let help in reaching the annual fee waiver threshold .
