I have an Amex Platinum Travel Credit Card and I had a couple questions regarding it.
I am about to achieve the 4,00,000 spend target to receive bonus points.

Question 1: It says I will get 10K bonus points on reaching the target spend. But I saw an advert (can't locate it anymore) in the app that I would be getting 25K* bonus points on reaching the 4L target spend. What are the conditions (*) to get 25K points?

Question 2: Same as above for 1.9L target spend; I received 7.5K bonus points, but the advert said 15K

Question 3: What is the best way to utilize the Amex reward points. I am happy to convert into Air Miles if that is an option?

Question 4: What are the other benefits that I can avail after completing the target spend?

Post spending 1.9L 7.5K bonus points are automatically credited, but for the remaining 7.5K reach out to customer care and they will credit the pending 7.5K reward points. Same for completing 4L spend, reach out to customer care and they will credit the remaining points. In total, we get 40k bonus reward points and 10k INR TAJ Voucher post 4L spent.

Currently, the AMEX to Marriott Bonvoy 10% bonus transfer offer is running. If you will transfer 50k AMEX points to your Marriott Bonvoy account then you will get 55k Marriott points. If not Marriott points, then you can get TAJ Vouchers worth 10k INR for 20k AMEX reward points. Airline transfer is also open to several airlines if you prefer that.

For me AMEX to Marriott Bonvoy transfer works the best.

I believe this is for Platinum charge and Centurion users only.

Please ignore this, as AMEX to Marriott transfer is only available for Plat Charge and Centurion members. For Plat travel, there are 7 airline partners and 2 hotel partners for point transfer.

Yes, absolutely correct.

I received this email today regarding my Axis Bank Vistara Infinite Credit Card, and I'm unsure whether Axis Bank's tie-up with Air India is ending or if they are planning to launch a new co-branded card with them.

This used to be one of my favorite Axis Bank credit cards, especially after the whole Magnus fiasco. It’s disappointing to see the benefits being discontinued, but I hope Axis introduces a similar or even better rewarding card with Air India as a replacement.

I hope your add on card numbers are different compared to primary holder. Previously, HDFC used to issue same number to add on member with just change in name on the card face.

HDFC still follows this convention. The only changes are the name and CVV. In my view, this is definitely not one of their ‘best practices’. It is pretty idiotic actually.(In my view.)

Not really. I have two add-on cards, for two family members of mine. One was issued along with primary when I was upgraded to new variant. It has same card number for add-on and primary. The second add-on was requested separately. This has a different card number.

Hello Bhpians , Need suggestions for my upcoming travel to United States.

1. This is a business travel so round trip flight bookings will be done through my Corp Card.

2. While in US I am planning for a 10 day vacation around the West Coast. So my spending will be on Hotels , Dining , Car rental , Shopping, probably some domestic flight also

Need suggestions on which card will be helpful to accumulate points.

Last year on my Europe travel I spent close to 2L and used BookMyForex card just for the sake of Zero forex charges. But I felt I could have made better use of the spend with other cards.

Get the HDFC Infinia, then enable Global Value Program. Infinia charges 2.36% Forex conversion charges. But the reward rate is 3.3% + 1% cash back rewards using the Global Value Program. So net you will make 1.97% back on international spends. The conversion rate is the visa exchange rate (+ 2.36% Forex conversion charges).

Note: 1% cashback limit is upto INR 1000 per month (i.e. max spend of 1 Lakh).

My experience was different. The single add on that I requested was much later into my membership of the card. The addon contains the same number but different name and CVV.

I assume you might have requested your add-on card prior to mid-2024. HDFC changed the policy around that time, as per the information shared on other forums. My second add-on was requested after that.

If you/anyone wants to get an add-on with different number for current family member that holds an add-on, he/she should first cancel existing add-on card and then submit a fresh application for add-on card.

This correct, HDFC changed their policy from Feb 1st, 2024 and now issues add on cards with separate phone no. for OTPs, card number and manageable directly from the app of the add on user.

This also means it can be used to go beyond the single card limits on instant voucher, however still subject to the total 15k ceiling afaik.

Keep the Regalia. Use the Smartbuy and gyftr portal to the max. Try and upgrade to Infinia.

Thank you both for your responses and apologies for the late acknowledgement.

I have retained the HDFC Regalia card and decided to stop using / cancel the ICICI Sapphiro card. Tried getting an add-on card for my wife (ICICI) and the process was so cumbersome.

Multiple missed/cancelled/failed appointments for KYC verification and the agent did not bother to turn up or inform about not being able to keep the appointment, cancelled the appointments after the time had passed. Add to this, pathetic response by the ICICI credit card contact point that I was given. Customer care was useless as they had no clue what to do, I was put on hold for every query when I called on multiple separate occassions. ICICI bank has a branch less than 100m from my place and the staff there were so lethargic and complacent when I dropped in to resolve some queries. Made me think if I indeed walked into an SBI branch.

I have a dedicated RM from HDFC and generally even the branch staff are very courteous and genuinely helpful so decided to retain HDFC.

Thanks again for your suggestions. Best wishes.

I have had good experiences with ICICI here. Been using Amazon pay card for quite some time and wanted to upgrade it. Got Saphiro now and an add on for my wife as well. This also comes with Amex card. Dual card system.

The ICICI employee came to my office (close by) did all the procedures here itself and things just happened smoothly for me.

My credit card usage would be under Rs.7L a year so not sure if HDFC regalia will be ok for me.

I got the renewal add on in Jan 2025 and then my wife upgraded to Regalia Gold in this month March 2025. Both the times, add on card comes with same card number/cvv of primary card like earlier times :unhappy

But one good thing that HDFC implemented for online transactions is now a click here link is available in HDFC bank OTP page to select Add on card holder and OTP comes to add on holder mobile number. So it solves the problem for most part except like Amazon where you can enter OTP in their page itself.

Latest HDFC credit card offer is Regalia Forex plus card can be loaded with Infinia credit card and you can get 5x reward points upto 15K points beyond Smartbuy cap of regular 15K points. If you load 1000 USD, no issuance fee too. But big downside is HDFC is almost charging 2% mark up on the application day's exchange rate. If you are okay with it, it gives 16% returns on credit card. So you can use Infinia with GVP for 1% cashback upto 1L spends and beyond that and for excluded categories you can use this Forex card.

On the other hand bookmyforex has MMT offer running and if you register fresh, you can get a cashback of max 7500 if m8nimum INR loading is 2.25L (approx 3% cashback) on that day's exchange rate. No other charges in bookmyforex card.

Finally, INR is trending down (almost 3%) since a week after the sharp increase in first week of March. So watch out the exchange rate movement and take the call accordingly if you are going through Forex card route.

I received my Infinia Card a few days after sending the mail and making several calls to the Branch Manager, Credit Card Manager and their respective bosses (Area Heads).
I have been doing all my spends on this card. My UPI spends have significantly reduced. Almost half the current UPI spends are on the linked RuPay card.

Are you sure the capping is 3.3%? From what I understand, the capping should be 5000 points per day on insurance spends.

I have a few questions for Infinia users/experts:
- The My Cards portal allows you to check all your transactions. How does one check how many points each transaction has given?
- The add on card has the same number and CVV as the primary card. This is a problem when the add on card holder makes an online transaction. The OTP comes to the primary card holders registered mobile number. I have read somewhere that HDFC is issuing add on cards with different numbers and also linking them to the add on card holders registered mobile number. But there is no clarity on who gets those cards and who doesn't.
- Is the Club Marriott Membership the same as the membership you normally buy? I have an existing membership and the person handling memberships at the Marriott says that the one you get with Infinia only entitles you to discounts. You do not get the free stay, free buffet vouchers, cake etc. Anyone verified this?
