I see members saying it is distracting to keep something hanging but frankly it does not distract me at all. But thats just me, everyones different. I mean it is there and it is not at the same time.

Its absolutely distracting to have something hanging on the Inner rear view mirror or for that matter anything on the dashboard which vibrates esp those spring loaded ones. I find that too repelling when some of those springy ones have a God's idol say Ganesha. For one it does not look good and secondly the kind of creaky sound they make puts me off totally.

I have seen some bizarre looking hangings inside the car like a CD with LED's, glow balls etc.

I don't have anything hanging from the IRVM, I find it very distracting and obstructing my vision.

I do have a very small Ganesh idol pasted in the centre of the dashboard.

My service centre puts a small sticker inside the glove box for the service reminder. But I do have a friend whose service centre gives a hanging card for the service reminder and he actually lets it hang till the next service.

I have a small fengshui hanging on the IRVM but its small enough not to distract me while driving. That's just my opinion, many guys have really big hangings like a soft toy or some metallic thing that keeps making a lot of noise. That is truly distracting. Just my 2c...

Nothing on my car's IRVM. I would not say that the hanging objects on IRVM are distraction as I have not used any till date.
The dashboard has a small Ganesha idol.

As a child, I used to love to put stuffed toys on IVRM of my dad's car. These toys would create sound when moved/shaked. I am sure my dad would not have liked it but just because me and my brother liked it as child, so he honoured.


In fact, I do not even like putting parking stickers on my car's windshield (looks very cluttered to me). There is different thread on how do you manage with multiple car parking stickers, so I am not writing anymore on this thread.

The worst craze these days seems to be the Orange Hanuman ji being hung on the IRVM in flying position. No Offence but it does not look good and I find it disrespectful as well!

Many years back many used to hang CDs on their IRVMs. Ridiculous to say the least.

Nothing in my ride, it distracts me. But then it's each ones preference :-)

Nothing is hung on my car's IRVM. I never felt it was distracting, as I have driven cars with hanging soft toys to bunch of plastic grapes (old Amby favourite). But in my car, I never liked hanging anything.

Absolutely nothing on RVM.
Apart from Ganesh Idol on the dash and a tissue box on the parcel tray I have nothing in my car. No stickers, not even the dealer's sticker from day one. I keep my company's parking sticker on the dash board before entering office premise and keep it in the glow box once I'm out of office premise

+1 to all those who said its irritating and disturbing. I get headache if I see something constantly moving around in that area. My company gives car parking pass which is supposed to be hanged in the RVM which I remove while driving.

I used to have that glow ball but it kind of broke in a week. Have had nothing since then. I do have a picture of Ganesh and Lakshmi just above the central AC vents though

The current fad seems to be the flower plant which bobs up and down. I am also wanting to have one to be honest but have not found it anywhere yet :-)

I don't like anything hanging from IRVM but my wife saw this idol of Lord Hanuman at a traffic junction and she liked it. So now, Hanumanji hangs from my IRVM with the Sanjeevani mountain in one hand and a mace in the other and I haven't found it very distracting to be honest.

Gosh, I wonder what all the minimalistic people out there would say to this. I ahve a small feungshi kinda trinket (which was found/bought by wifey), a small freshener card, a my favorite a small cluster of bells, which give a very earthy sound while driving. It has kept me from boredom on many along drives and reminds you of bells hung from the cattles' neck.
