Re: Bangalore Traffic Police declares next target - Blinking LEDs

I really hope they crack down on people modifying their cars by removing the amber indicator bulbs/lenses and replacing them with blue LEDs. Doing this is a very obvious violation of the law - such vehicles are not in conformance with the standards set down by the authorities.

To all those who think that this modification is a "cool" thing to do - the light are amber for a very good reason! Making it blue is silly, and you won't look cool when you have caused an accident because of this!

Re: Bangalore Traffic Police declares next target - Blinking LEDs

So happy to read this news. This trend of installing blinking lights is catching up big time among cabbies and commerical vehicles. Some of these guys don't need LEDs for the 'bling' effect. They reprogram their tail lights to alternatively light up the brakelights and reversing lights whenever the driver applies brakes.

I hope cops act smartly and station themselves at signals. This way they can walk up from behind and detain those with those irritating blinking lights.

Wonderful move. As if strobe lights weren't enough, now even emergency blinkers on newer vehicles are being thoroughly misused as if the rider / driver were some kind of VVVIP and claimed priority over the road rights.

I hope to see this strictly and uniformly implemented across India.

True.

With lesser human intervention and greater introduction of technology into traffic monitoring and management, there is still hope that they do at least something!
