To people looking for options to parcel their bikes through Railways but do not know the process and want to avoid the hassle, Gooddrop provides a home pick-up service, which helps people to parcel their bikes through Railways minus the inconvenience. This is how www.gooddrop.in works:
A customer can go to the website (www.gooddrop.in) and place a bike shipping order. Customer is asked minimum questions on the source and destination cities, shipping date etc. Alternate way is to call them directly and place a tele-order (9742834253), or one can approach them through their Facebook page.
Based on the provided date, Gooddrop’s executives will pick up the two-wheeler from the customer’s house, package it as specified by the Railways, take care of the documentation with the Railways parcel office and courier the specifics to the provided address. Charges:
Gooddrop charges its service fee ranging from 1200 to 1500 rupees.
Gooddrop is currently shipping bikes from Bengaluru (other cities = only bulk orders). Presently, it is only a home pick-up service and last mile delivery is not yet a feature. Customer is responsible to receive the bike from the destination railway station once it arrives there; they will receive a notification from Gooddrop when their bike reaches the destination.
For customers who might encounter instances where the bike reaches the destination before their arrival, Gooddrop is planning to add a parking facility so that bikers could receive the bike at the destination as per their convenience.
