Guys! Thanx for all that kind wishes.

As of now, the car is still left abandoned on the roadside. And I think it should've been gone thru all the bad things I can imagine. I couldn't move it to a safe place (cops were worried about the injury and I had to rush to a hospital).

The car is in a very bad shape. It'll take some time to get back on action.

I'll post pics as soon as I get to a PC.

Take care zak. Not meant to be offensive but I found it hilarious that you have actually taken pics of the car tho you were injured. How serious are the injuries?

I had an accident (head on with a mahindra jeep) near Adimali while returning from Munnar. My wife was hurt in the head. Badly wanted to take a snap of the smashed Indica but restrained myself as I didnt want her to recall that incident again.

I think that showed real presence of mind. Pics will be crucial in case of legal and insurance issues. Best to be fore-armed.

I spoke to Zak, and he's ok. Same for his family. They all got away with some bruises, thank god.

Sorry to hear that man, I wish you guys a very wuick recovery.

I came close to this in my Petra on the day of Diwali. The auto fella was on my left while I was waiting for green to take right turn. Suddenly this guy starts passing me from left and taking a U, ......... Scrapes on my front bumper left corner. I am happy the guy didnt do that while I was at 40+ KMPH.

We need a separate country for auto rickshaw drivers...., they dont belong here !!! Are they same everywhere (or) Hyderabad is worse ?

Speed, That was a nasty accident, these Autowallahs & Truck drivers are real nonsense throughut the country, the Govt should impose very strict tests and procedures for granting licence to these morons.

Wish U and family a very Speedy Recovery!

Speedzak, concentrate on the positives -- you are OK, your family is OK. Wish you all a speedy recovery. Blank out the negatives, but don't forget the lessons learnt -- that is my philosophy. I have had many close encounters with autos. One that I will never forget, in 100 ft road, Indira Nagar, Bangalore, is a guy who comes from the opposite direction on the other side of the divider, cuts across through a gap in the divider to make a U-turn in front of me and gets to the left side of my road, and just as I am about to pass him, turns right again! What a maneuver. Luckily I escaped without an accident, but only because the road had enough space for me to swerve.

Today in Pune, an old lady slows down to about 5 kmph in the middle of the road, signals right, and promptly moves to the left side of the road (forcing me to brake) and stops there!! I asked her what the hell was she up to and she replies "sorry".

Incidents like these will give you a wake-up call if you are lucky enough to survive. We are all human and can make mistakes at any time. Have to drive to Mumbai tomorrow night, must take extra care and concentrate hard.
