The "Nillu-Nillu" (Stop-Stop) Challenge: Fools are jumping in front of vehicles

Quote:
A New Viral Trend Of Jumping In Front Of Vehicles For Tik Tok Video Is Gripping Kerala.

Remember KiKi Challenge, the social media challenge which took the world by storm and people were seen jumping out of moving vehicles, dance and move along the moving vehicle and jump back on it?

While the KiKi Challenge has since died down, a similar craze, which is even riskier is gripping Kerala's youth.

Called Nillu Nill Challenge, it involves a group of people jumping in front of a speeding vehicle on the road and dance after the vehicle stops.

Social media in Kerala have been flooded with Nillu Nillu videos for the past few days. The videos originally began appearing on Tik Tok, a video broadcasting app. It has been since widely posted on other platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

Initially, it began as simple thrill video with youths jumping in front of two-wheelers, often driven by their friends who know that they are making a video.

Since then, people have taken it to a whole new dangerous level. There are even videos of youths jumping in front of buses on the road, catching the driver off guard and where a disaster was averted because the driver applied the breaks on time.

The song Nillu Nillu which literally means 'stop stop' is from a 2004 film Rain Rain Come Again, which out of the blue has become so popular on the internet.

re: "Nillu-Nillu" (Stop-Stop) Challenge: Threat for fast moving vehicles

Two things are infinite- the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe. Whoever said that, knew people. Surely stupidity knows no boundaries.

We may see a lot more posts in the 'bad pedestrians' thread soon.

This sounds more threatening than stupid. Think of the driver of a speeding vehicle witnessing this act in front of him. It can surely create a panic situation leading to traumatic injuries to others. I feel pity for our government and police that they need to educate people over these acts.

Edit: This comes comes from a state which has the highest literacy rate in India.

Let a few of those dunderheads get squished and become rubber and tomato ketchup sandwiches.
Then they’ll learn.

In India, only extreme pain or death will help “awareness” in such situations.

Look at those Amritsar blokes, all standing for god’s sake, on a railway track to witness Dussehra.

Now this Nilu Nilu rubbish.

Maybe it is nature’s way of helping the useless human population self regulate...

Wow, heights of stupidity.
As if our roads were so safe before and now we have one more thing to worry about while driving on our so called "roads".

Extreme stupidity

People are ready to risk their lives for some silly "challenge" like this, but I think it's just a natural extension of not wearing helmets, seat belts and riding/driving the wrong way - don't care for our own lives nor that of others on the road

Ashamed to be a Keralite after seeing such stupidity! Well there is something wrong with our education system and parenting. I have had my share of stupidities, but this is beyond me. What are these hooligans upto? I guess few months behind bars is not a bad idea afterall. This is not endangering oneself but putting life of innocents in danger.

I hope the driver is not charged for causing accident if he veers into some other vehicle or kills a few of these idiots. What the hell is the police doing? They have video evidence, faces and all. May be they are busy hammering the Sabarimala devotees, while students jump in front of the vehicle.

In a way, it shows the state of affairs, jumping in front of a smoothly running system, causing an accident, and then blaming on system itself.

What a terrible challenge. These morons even picked a college bus.

At the rate people wear seatbelts in India, this is going lead to some serious injuries.:

The cops need to crack down on this fast.

Ah! Darwinism at its best!

Let me just grab a bucket of popcorn.

All the while recalling an old quote that went something like;

"Hard times create strong men,
Strong men create good times,
Good times create weak men,
Weak men create hard times"

If a driver to avoid such a Nilu Nilu attempt turns the steering abruptly and knocks over some bystander who would be held responsible?

Utter stupidity.

Good strategy to Make India Intelligent. The government should start moron reduction schemes like this. India's population growth will not spiral out of control.
