Re: What I love about driving in India

As someone rightly said earlier in this thread, the weaknesses of Indian roads are also its strengths.

The BIGGEST advantage of riding or driving on Indian roads is the freedom surrounding how we use it. The ability to slow down or stop to the side of the road, whether to enjoy a view, or to ask for directions, or to take a short break, is one I deeply cherish.

If you're riding a 2 wheeler, you can even happily park it in a corner to run errands without blocking the road.

I am not sure how to express this, but I feel a connection to the road and surroundings when driving in India. When driving outside India, I feel disconnected from the road, and the drive is more robotic (for the lack of a better word).

Re: What I love about driving in India

A few years ago I was working for a British multi-national and a colleague had come over from the UK for a few days. I had the chance to roam about the city and its outskirts with him and at the end of his stay I asked him about his view on the roads/traffic in India. I think his reply sums things up pretty well (as well as captures the mood of this thread):

It is certainly "adventurous".

Attaching a few images from my experiences.

Re: What I love about driving in India

Freedom, Adventurous and Dynamic !

For me some of the most memorable and close to heart scenic nature I have seen is while driving through Indian roads.
Though I love the good roads and manners of some countries, sometime It becomes too predictable and boring, even in some case it make us less engaging, Long never ending deserts to boring farm lands, it always make me bit less engaging and less attentive.
Attaching some of my unplanned clicks on Indian roads.
