| ![]() Very appropriate, definitely in Haryana. Only those display their castes where a reputation for aggression and a "don't mess with me bro" has already been established by certain members of that community. |

| ![]() Is this for such identities or identities on number plates? It is illegal to have anything but the registration number on the number plate. As a corollary, what's the stand on identities on rear windshields? Quote:

Registration plate is a different matter - and this is not because it is caste, but even a team BHP sticker covering the number plate is illegal.

| ![]() Apart from RTO rules of registration plate compliance, is this legally enforceable? Won't this infringe upon freedom of expression? |

| ![]() On a lighter note, not a good move at all to ban these! After all, these stickers alert me to safely steer clear off such vehicles and drivers! (Do not mean to stereotype, but talking from experience) |

| ![]() An interesting video on the same issue showing the offender's perspective. At 3:21 you can see that warnings or challans do not matter to them. Last edited by YD14 : 20th February 2021 at 20:28. |

- What is really unacceptable that they have issued a legal order to ban us from putting these stickers on our cars. - I love their spirit. People like us comply to whatever the cops say. These guys would keep paying challan but won’t let that curb their rights or freedom. More people should be like them. ![]() - BTW, ‘Twas a really informative video, thanks for sharing ![]()

| ![]() To all the gentlemen, who are trying to justify it in the name of caste identity, freedom of expression, culture tradition etc. Please accept, caste system is our version of apartheid/racism. We eat up resources of underprivileged classes in name of tradition. Earlier we get rid of this disease, faster our society would heal. Do it for your kids. |

| ![]() How come only the so-called "upper castes" are proudly flaunting their caste identities? Clearly, the sooner the evil of caste based discrimination is done away with the better it is for the country. Sadly, it seems the caste identities are hardcoded in the DNA of quite a few (read majority) Indians and this is certainly a form of apartheid/ racism. Indian media cries foul when an Indians abroad are victims of racism/hate crime but does not bat an eyelid for the centuries old caste based discrimination. These stickers should most definitely be banned forever. Freedom of expression doesn't give anyone the right to discriminate on the basis of caste/colour/creed/religion etc. These stickers are clearly meant to intimidate members of other castes. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() What happens when folks put stickers and nametags of political party - local and national parties? Similar points (+ve/-ve) apply here too Have seen a few Activas/cars in my building with national party stickers on their number plates. Also seen a few with party flags (ignoring the ones with the Indian flag) out on their cars. A similar logic/questioning also applies to those with the "POLICE" and "MEDIA" stickers on their number plates - these have been there since ages. A lot of the times it's not even the individual who's a serving individual - turns out someone in their family (father/brother/etc) is the one in service but everyone riding the scooter tries to get whatever 'benefit' they can gain out of it. Don't think there's a lot possible here, to be honest. |

| ![]() This does need to be done but given that the Delhi police has a much larger issue to deal with (farmers agitation fallout besides all the other law and order issues), it is surprising that they picked now of all times to actually enforce this after spending years not caring about it at all. Talk about Nero fiddling while Rome was burning around him. |
