Carrying the RC & Driving Licence in original is mandatory by rule of Law. But with carjacking and thefts happening people have started keeping xeroxes of RC, insurance and licence as well. And on a routine day the police accepts this as ok..

Becaz i used to have only photocopies of RC and Insurence even if i do ohter state trips.
