Horrific accident in Inner ring road today

I am just back from a 2 hour drive back home which usually takes 30 mins. There was a terrible accident there near the Ejipura junction. Huge electricity poles along the side of the road have collapsed on vehicles. I saw an auto/Honda city and 2 buses damaged. I am not sure if there were any more. The bus seems to have saved quite a few lives atleast since it bore the brunt and prevented the poles from falling completely. Judging by the scene there, it doesnt look like there were any serious casualties. I really hope there was no electricity at the time the incident happened.
I saw electric pole fallen even at Bannerghatta road (In front of Sagar hospital). Very risky to drive in when it rains.

People who are planning to leave now, should probably take alternate routes.

I'm guessing this is due to the heavy rains and winds which lashed the city a few hours ago? On hosur road the barricades for the elevated flyover was reported to be falling on vehicles.

The same here it took me about 2 hours to get out of that traffic but by the time I reached there i saw a auto, bus no other vehicles where there, came to koramangala and saw a huge tree fallen in middle of the road .. Its becoming to risky these days to travel when it rains.

sun or rain.. blr always seems to have issues on the roads. sometimes, it just leaves ppl thinking if there can be an end to all this at all.

Not that the other cities dont have it, but then.....

This is the situation every time their is a heavy downpour ...

Its very sensible not to venture out in heavy rains or just after it rains...

Its about time that the government takes notice of whats happenign here, as far is the infrastructure is concerned. I have seen bangalore go for great to bad to worst in just 7-8 years. Its really sad that the government continues to waste time doing nothing while the common man is suffering. We should also have a way of suing the government for mental harrasment and pain for driving on bangalore roads. The way our infra is built, there is absolutly no accountability now and the contractors just do what is cheapest for them. And I dont want to blame them either as they pass on a lot of their profits to our wonderful government in the form of bribes and therefore we have to put up with sub standard work. God help us all.
