Tata Indica accident at Malad!

A Tata Indica slammed into a bus in the early hours of 4th September, 2005 near Ford showroom, Malad. According to a Citibank security guard close-by, the Indica was taking a U-turn when it got into the path of an oncoming bus. The side of the bus smashed the front of the Indica completely. Fortunately and thank God, no one was killed in this horrific incident. The cabin of the Indica was unharmed. If the car was a little more ahead, the occupants of the car would be dead as the bus would've rammed straight onto them. I forgot to ask him how many passengers were in the car. Since it is mostly a call center car, there may have been some people in it. Only one person, maybe the driver, who got some minor injuries on the leg.

The car is in a complete mess till the A-pillar and the rear tyre. The left rear tyre must've got bent due to the heavy impact of the bus.

Oh that was a horrific accident, the occupants were lucky as the bus did't ram into the cabin. Can't even imagine a car like M800 or Omni in this kind of situation

I would pass judgement on the car if it was hit head on. It was a side swipe, so I will reserve my comments. But yes, if it was an M800 then it might have been a different story. I guess the extra weight on the car prevented it form spinning on the road and hitting something else.

I think the collision was not head-on. Point of impact was the left front area near the tyre.

Exactly. I shudder to think what would have happened if it was a head on collision. The passengers were really lucky. BTW, whose fault was it?

Well.. be it hit from the side of the bus or whatever but that is some serious damage. Cabin shape after the accident just shows how stong the Indica is!!

This reminds me of our old indica. The car hit a huge rock which the driver did not see, lost control, hit the bridge railngs at around 70kmph, which buckled but did not give way, otherwise disater. After hitting the railings it spun around to oncoming traffic, where a huge military truck hit it bang on the rear. the driver did not get any injuries, however rear passengers got minor injuries due to being thrown around(No seatbelts, old model). But the important part was that the cabin held inspite of multiple impacts.
