Guys,

This is disturbing as well as very shocking. Unfortunately street racing has affected most lives more in a bad way than good. I know the pictures are extremely graphic, but I have intentionally posted them in the hope of dissuading potential racers from practicing their skills on the street. I know that I myself have street raced in Bombay numerous times in the last 10 years, but the respect for my life, other lives and my machine has shot up with a level of maturity where the last time I drove really aggressively was in an enclosed special purpose track - The Mercedes C320 in a track event in Boston...August 2003.

Drive safe, not only for yourself and the loved ones waiting at home but the many careless others on Indian roads. You may have a Japanese monocoque guarding you but the less fortunate pedestrian has nothing. Its a fact that more people die of accidents on our roads than because of cancer or heart disease.

Dont take your physical well-being for granted....Remember, the pain is unbearable, the memories scarred and the guilt eternal.

Drive safe...always

GTO *

P.S. - I am wondering if we should have a race stories section at all.

The Ferrari was likely travelling at about 125 miles per hour, though it has a top speed of 175 miles per hour. It struck a Fiat Pallio (though we have also seen it described as a Ford Fiesta) travelling in the opposite direction.

The Ferrari occupants, Nelson Ribeiro Filho (age 51) and Jose Carlos Gino Pannocchia (age 54) were immediately killed. The other car's occupants, Maximilian Conrado Pires (age 25) and Penrose Enory Brentari Pereira (age 21) were hospitalized, but Pires died soon thereafter.

According to one Brazilian reader, these pictures "appeared in every single newspaper of Sao Paulo". Apparently, this was the only Ferrari in the city which the crash occurred, and it had achieved some notoriety for its hotroddery.

DO NOT FOLLOW THIS LINK IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY HIGHLY ILLUSTRATIVE PICTURES. ACCIDENT PICTURES ARE HIGHLY GRAPHIC AND INCLUDE CLOSE UP PICTURES OF ACCIDENT FATALITIES

The last pic was really terrifying!!!!!!!

If a car like the Ferrari couldn't save those guys, you can imagine how unsafe our cars are.

We should keep the race story section as there are some off us who actually race cars on the track. But yes, we should discourage street race stories!!!

Yep GTO

These were the other pics I had in my series. Theyre absolutely horrifying. One should not race super cars in the busy sreets or youd end up with the same fate though it may not be your fault. Drive Safely...

GTO, thats strange

"The other car's occupants, Maximilian Conrado Pires (age 25) and Penrose Enory Brentari Pereira (age 21) were hospitalized, but Pires died soon thereafter. "

I dont see the point in hospitalizing that!
Maybe the media "softened" the story.....or maybe there is some descrepancies in the stories/pics

cheers

Maybe by occupants they mean the passengers? If you look at the pictures, by seeing the number of people around and the equipment, it seems to have been a while before the photographer got clicking. The driver looks totally unattended (or in need thereof)

Could also be the brazilian to english translation problem?
