A minor miracle : Left two cell phones on the boot for 1.5 kms!

Today there were some parents' day celebrations in my daughter's school, she was performing so I had to go there. Me, wifey and younger daughter reached our car parking at 8:45 AM and found that a black Fiesta was parked just behind my car. Thankfully it was in neutral, and handbrake wasn't applied so I put both my phones - a HTC Touch HD and Nokia E72 on my car's boot, pushed Fiesta and reversed my car.

While reversing I bumped my car's rear into a wrongly parked Esteem's front. But since we were getting late, I didn't get down to check the damage.

About 1.5 KMs from my home, there is a place where cars have to go through an underpass, and there is a long queue of cars. I was stuck in that queue for 10 mins and was slowly inching my way ahead when a guy in a car came from behind towards passenger side and asked me to lower the window.

I did, and he told me there is a phone on the boot. I was shocked and was certain that at least one phone would have fallen off. But fortunately both were there. Even after the bump into Esteem, 4-5 speed-breakers, they were still there :-) A potential loss of 50K averted :-)

In the hindsight, that bump with Esteem was probably a signal from automobile-God: "Idiot get down and see what you have kept on the boot" but I didn't pay heed to that ;-)

But as they say, all's well that ends well, so I am happy. And yes, when I checked my car's rear, there were no signs of bump with Esteem :-)

Apart from being very lucky today, this story also depicts that you are a safe driver as you had driven the car for 1.5 kms.

Not only did the phones survive the bump with esteem and the speedbreakers but also the hundreds of pedestrians with possibly all sorts of wrong intentions. Thats the biggest danger living in noida and ghaziabad. But there are good guys too.

My sister's phone was snatched by two guys on a cycle when she was getting down from a rickshaw in front of our society gate. She screamed and the society guard gave chase to the thieves but couldn't catch then. Then two other guys on a motorcycle came and asked what happened. The guard told them what happened and they hunted the thieves down. They brought back the phone, gave it to my sister and told her that a few people were beating up both the thieves.

That was an awesome experience. Sometimes god is really kind. I consider it as divine intervention. It happens to all of us from time to time. Some recognize it, some dont!

I am sure you will spend the rest of the day with a huge grin on your face.

There is absolutely nothing on my rear bumper, so I am certain his car too would be fine :-)

re: A minor miracle : Left two cell phones on the boot for 1.5 kms!

I once forgot to roll up my windows and locked the remote car in the night. I had a Garmin and someother personal items in the car. The remote lock beeps might have given me the warning but I was too tired to notice or remember the beeps.
Next day morning to my horror I saw the windows rolled down with the GPS and AUX wires, papers intact. I thanked the Lord.

In BLR I thought I had locked the Zen and I put the car cover on top of it.
I left for Pune for a week. Came back and remotely unlocked the car. To my horror it got locked instead of unlock only to realise I had not locked it in the first place.
I thanked the Lord.
For me regular charity however miniscule averts mishaps and the following heartaches.

Yes - it sounds indeed a miracle.

You didn't mention which car is yours? The answer could be well in there...since in some cars - there is a gap between the glass & metal!! Would be great to know if such a gap is in your car or is it a pure miracle!!

I was driving a Manza. And I had put the phones on the boot, not in the gap between glass and metal :-)

Oops, that was a typo. I meant that phones weren't in that gap. So I am extremely lucky ;-)

This was really a miracle that you didn't loose any of your mobile phones. This shows that God and your Luck are with you.

I could not stop laughing after reading this. And nice of the guy to tell you that. Surprising that no one spotted it while crossing or whatever and took it.

This should be the new joke on teambhp, as the climax was never expected.
