Sometimes, we all do advocate safety and make it sound it the biggest crime on earth (in general comment) coz maybe we on the community understand automobile and all its safety and other aspects much better than the common man as we have exposure to so many such incidents and the education on the forum.

Sometimes we could also understand that one may want to just have a small joy ride and let kids be kids for few mins (yes is a risk but we take many others similar risks in life). A slower speed may keep things in better check. Let them enjoy for very few mins and them buckle them up. Don't kids love the double decker buses, open top buses in Mumbai. Not advocating or preaching anything here, but bring in a common man perspective. Many kids like to be on Papa's lap for few seconds to experience the joy of steering feel, hit the horn button in a controlled society compound environment. Its risky, and again strongly not recommended Also understand the the risk not only to the car and owner family but a bigger risk to those outside the car. But still papa's love occasionally takes precedence sometimes.

Again, dear ALL - All your comments on safety aspects are bang on. I am only bringing a sentimental touch of a parent in general which in legal and practical terms are not justifiable.

And all the people (includes the non bhpians and maybe the same parents) read about an accident because of carelessness and form opinions, have discussions regarding safety and what not! See the accidents thread to understand how many discussions have happened regarding seat belt safety.

Yes you can let kids be kids but not at the cost of safety. And celebrities doing this get highlighted as everybody recognizes them or rather their fans (few atleast) imitate them
