Audi India opens its third dealership in eastern India in Ranchi after Kolkata and Bhubaneswar.

Note the prices, the road tax is way less in Jharkhand thus bringing the OTR costs down by a few lakhs atleast for each model when compared to other states.

It is currently running on temporary DL registration plates.

I was in Jampot last year doing my PG. I spotted a Blue X5M near Jubilee Park, Sakchi. My eyes fell on road when I spotted this beauty, last year March/April. It wasn't sporting a registration number then. Initially I thought it would have come from Kolkata to ferry someone. And now I see here that this car was sold to someone from JH.

Fell in love with this car. Looks so imposing and awesome in person. The blue color is pretty unique and adds to the car's character.

Ranchi has really overtaken Patna in the supercar scene. No tracks there but what fun would it be to drive these Porsches on the Ranchi - Hazaribagh highway

The superbike scene in Ranchi has also evolved, plenty of big Harleys and litre class bikes in Ranchi now !

The good thing is that the owners drive/ride these beauties almost every weekend, thanks to the amazing roads around the city.

As far as I know, no Lamborghinis in the city currently. A Bentley Bentayga was supposed to come, but the deal didn't happen eventually.

I know a couple of people who are sitting on the fence to buy a Rolls Royce but I am not sure when that is going to happen.

What about the fuel availability for these cars? One of the major reason people are avoiding high performance cars in Patna is because of unavailability of 97 octane which I reckon same is the case in Ranchi. Can't imagine how these cars must be performing with regular fuel, my humble 25t XF was performing sadly after coming to Patna due to poor quality after running two tanks of 97 octane in Kolkata. Ultimately one of the BMW dealer principal suggested me 'BMW Group Petrol Additive' sounds weird but this person is too reliable to take advices from. Ordered 5 of them, fingers crossed.

Only normal fuel is available in Ranchi/Jamshedpur, no high-octane fuel options. However, owners stick to couple of COCO pumps as the chances of adulteration or low-grade fuel is minimal with COCO pumps.

You may try the same. It will not substitute 97-octane fuel but atleast you would be sure that there is no adulteration.



EDIT :

Just got an update from a friend who rides a Ducati xDiavelS in Ranchi, he says that there is one petrol pump at Birsa Chowk which stocks 97-Octane fuel on a demand basis. They get barrels of 97-octane from Kolkata and sell it in Ranchi for a marginal premium. This is as per my friend, I have not personally verified this.

I have been trying to get more dope on this, but haven't received any leads yet. Someone said the Birsa Chowk petrol pump is an IOCL outlet but afaik, IOCL only has Xtra Premium in their portfolio which is 93-Octane. Many use Octane Boosters along with 93-Octane though.

There is one BPCL COCO pump in Kadru but again not sure if they stock Speed97 or not.

I will let you know if I get any relevant information regarding 97-Octane fuel availability in Ranchi.

BTW, is there a JLR dealer in Patna? I thought only Kolkata, Raipur & Bhubaneswar JLR dealers are the nearest ones from Ranchi. I recently had a chance to drive the Jag XE Portfolio. I was pleasantly shocked by the abilities of the powertrain. Its quite a hoot to drive. I am sure your XF would be a similar performer, although it is tad heavier than the XE.

Meanwhile, Ranchi got a white Mercedes G63 AMG couple of days back. I don't have pics yet, but it seems the Jamshedpur dealer is doing good business in Jharkhand. Few V213 E350 LWBs have already been delivered.
