Dodge Challenger in Mumbai

A spanking new Dodge Challenger has landed in Mumbai. It's a 3.6L V6, not that exciting a spec but when you have a slew of British and Italians in your garage, an American makes a good addition.

Here is one pic of the same. Shall post more once they're processed.

Re: Dodge Challenger in Mumbai

What, no Hellcat? I wish the owner had bought a Hellcat rather than the V6, but a V6 Challenger is still better then no Challenger. Kudos to the owner for buying the Doge which will remain a rare car amongst the Europeans.

Re: Dodge Challenger in Mumbai

Whoever bought this, the man has taste . This is the best looking muscle car currently on sale. Just wish it was the V8, especially since the price difference isn't too much for someone who has the money to import one. But as Yusha said, a 6-cylinder Challenger is better than no Challenger.

Is it a RHD convert?

Hope to bump into the bad boy sometime on Mumbai roads. All he needs is a pair of Flowmasters!

Re: Dodge Challenger in Mumbai

At last a proper muscle car imported in recent times, there is a slew of carnet imports of Mustangs and Camaros in Kerala, but not a Challenger. And this is a proper import than a carnet.

Though we wish he had bought the V6 especially after going through all the trouble, for all practical purposes the V6 would suffice him for our roads.

SCOOP! 2015 Dodge Challenger spotted in India for the very first time!

The iconic muscle car, the 2015 Dodge Challenger, has been spotted in India wearing Temporary Registration plates.

It is unclear if the car is a LHD or a RHD, but a search on Zauba reveals that a single unit has been imported from Canada.

Could this be headed for a future launch in India alongside the Ford Mustang?

This is a customer car. It has already been registered as per what I was told and is a RHD.

The Zauba screenshot you posted says Right Hand Drive.
And about the India launch, well that is impossible! This is an after-market conversion, not a factory one.
If only Dodge and GM learn from Ford and put in the time, money and effort to develop a RHD factory conversion for their next/current gen Muscle cars, only then can we expect an India launch. The only reason the Mustang is going to launch here soon is because Ford was smart enough to make their new gen Mustang TRULY global. Meaning not just available with a turbo 4-pot and in Europe, but also making a factory RHD vehicle for the Commonwealth markets.

It is a RHD convert from what I know. The car goes like a bullet from a standstill but the soundtrack is missing :(
The on road presence is unmatched though.
As for the V6, I GUESS the owner got it coz only that engine configuration was missing in the garage

Re: Dodge Challenger in Mumbai

I really like American muscle cars, they look good, sound better than the European counterparts and doesn't really have a match in straight line acceleration. Ford and GM should really bring their supercars in India, it will help in company Image makeover of both the companies.

With the V6 Challenger, it's well over 6 seconds for the 0 - 100 (some have timed it at 7 seconds). Quick, but for a muscle car, I wouldn't say it goes like a bullet.

I agree, it isn't amongst the fastest cars around, but I was next to it on the sealink, with a Boxster GTS on my other side and the initial pull of the Dodge was brilliant
