IF i'm not wrong isnt the Jap version restricted to 280 bhp. This could be the US / UK export version.

Hey Scooby05,
Bro do u camp at some place near Mondy's??? Cuz i see your Impreza and the Smart parked opposite each other there almost every week. Its quite a sight ...... but somehow i dont like the combination that your Smart has, i.e. red and yellow, i mean it just dosent do justice to the cuteness of that car. BTW i just loooooooooveeeeeeee those golden rims on your Impreza.

Cheers!

P

In the current series, i.e.2004, infact the standard UK version is 260/280bhp, the jap version only comes with 320 and18 inch alloys as standard. if you have some published data which I can see, it will only enlighten me further.

the US variant has a 300bhp boxer and the UK version comes witha 261 bhp motor ..

there is the WRX WR1 which was developed by Prodrive ..it was a limited edition ..it featured a power upgrade to 320 psi's ..along with a revised ECU ,high flow catalyst and a sports muffler ...

Noticed that the speedo is marked to a rather UNOPTMISTIC 180 KMPH? Any idea why

All Japanese cars are limited to 112 mph (180 kph) on the road, hence the unoptimistic speedo. Even the R34 GT-R was marked to 180 kph, although they could do a lot more. The first car to have the limiter removed was the R35 GT-R, I think. Read it somewhere. Might be wrong though.

That's news for me, I never knew that Jap cars were limited to 180 kmph. Thanks for the info
