This was the True Big Grand Vitara with that wonderful lusty V6 engines. This is also the Vitara which I liked the most. It was 7 seater too.
I also think this was the Vitara with the cheapest price tag.
For the size and performance this was absolutely worth the money.

The second Vitara (in Pancham's post) was not a different model from the first one (pic in Scorcher's post). It was just a facelifted version with new grill, headlights and alloys. It had a slight increase in power and had better performance. It also had the same V6 engine.

It was definitely not the one that Scorcher has posted. It looked very good on road. Does anyone know any other Suzuki SUV apart from the Vitara. I t was not a new car thats for sure.

Suzuki has produced various versions of the Vitara/Grand Vitara/XL-7 over the years plus the Suzuki Jimny. So the SUV you spotted may be among these. Apart from this it may very well be any other brand SUV which is marketed as a Suzuki SUV in some parts of the world, and hence the Suzuki badge.

All Grand Vitaras sold in India before the current version were XL-7 LWB versions. The SWB version didn't come to India at all.

There's a HR-registered bottle green SWB Vitara in Ranchi, owned by some politician. Will try to snap it next time I'm home.

Talking of Vitara's, There used to be a 89-90' grey Escudo parked in front of Children's museum in early 90's.It belonged to some foreign diplomat.

Wow! Now that's something I'd really love to come across.

Pure drool maal.

Though a darker colour would have maybe suited it better.

Btw did the clicker mention where he caught this beauty? [Wait. I'm joining the group too.]

Lovely looking car. That does look like Ballygunge Phari. Would love to hear it roar sometime. The white one is also a V8 IIRC.
