And the assumptions you are making are based on Lp 560 having a good driver too. Any stats are based on good drivers. I suggest you check your 0-60 stats. the GT2 is faster! and on normal road conditions the Gt2 is waaaay faster. Dont even bother with that argument. Simply because the Porsche is much stronger car and can take a beating and half compared to any Lambo/Ferrari or any super car. Having said that, the porsche is still not a super car! Where as Lambos's Ferrari's etc are
Don't get so defensive... i know you have an LP 640 and i'm not saying anything bad about it. It's one of the best cars money can buy. and yes it is faster than than the GT2. But its a whole other ball game when it comes to making the draft...
and check the top gear stats for your answer on the 0-60.

Porsche 911 GT2 (997):
Horsepower: 530hp
Torque: 505ft-lb
0-60mph: 3.7s (Porsche estimate, but has been clocked at less than 3.4s by Motor Trend)
0-100mph: 7.4s (as clocked by Car and Driver)
1/4 Mile @ mph: 11.8s @ ???mph (Porsche estimate, but I've seen times as low as 11.4s @ 127.9mph)
Top Speed: 204mph (Porsche test, but Car and Driver saw an indicated 205mph on the Autobahn. Of course, there is always a degree of error in the speedometer relative to the actual speed)

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640:
Horsepower: 631hp (The 640 in the name is misleading.)
Torque: 487ft-lb
0-60mph: 3.5s
0-100mph: 8.1s
1/4 Mile @ mph: 11.8s @ 126mph
Top Speed: 219mph (Lamborghini claim)

Not sure ranjit.

The bike i was driving suddenly broke down in a signal. Next moment i hear a honk and the rover just blows past me. So did not notice if it had siren. But it had three siren escort cars: a Scorpio , Safari and a Bolero!!!

The modest lambo guys never claimed anything more than 211mph.The 219 was cracked in arizona(we have a video somewhere here).

sorry to interrupt,but you are wrong on both counts.
Engine displaces 6496cc(6.5L)
and produces 631bhp ie '640hp' and so the name...

No ,it is no 'mis leading' .. If you do your home work right and show me the 'stats' right , the 640 moniker is because the power of the car is measured in PS... So 640 PS = 631 BHP.

C&d showed the 0 - 100 KMPH (0 - 62mph) as 3.5 , however another magazine showed it to be 3.3 seconds. Both tests were with E gear tranny so I guess one doesn't have to be The Stig to get those times.

Listen... you're obviously very passionate about your LP 640... which is good. You should be, otherwise no point owning a car like that. But don't cross the line by being rude...
I simply cut and pasted an article online! Now if you go back to my post where this topic started from... you will see quite clearly that i never said the GT 2 outran an LP 640. But i did say it gave it a run for its money considering the HUGE price difference!
Which no sane man or woman can deny.

As for Top Gear... it is a known fact that Jeremey Clarkson can be very biast on the show towards paticular cars for personal reasons. But all together, it is the best motor show on TV. As his style and the quality of the production is briliant. So his say on a paticular car doesn't mean much for the real auto enthusiast.
Especially Porsches. I think it was only lately that he was forced to say a few good words about the Turbo... he has always disliked the 911. We'll wait for the stigs lap time of the LP560 and the GT2.

Now, enough of OT discussion.

L2D, The Top gear timings for the 560 and the GT2 are out!! Its a 1:19:5 And te GT2 also did it in a 1:19:5

So basically, around the Top Gear Track, they are both absolutely the same!!
