Moral of the story : don't post when you are half asleep .
Still thinking how I couldn't spot the antenna.

They had an 85 model G, which they officially exported to Dubai & re-imported a 95 model by some adjustment at customes.

No no, you can't do so. In the above case, they tried to convinse the authorities that car is a very rare model & can't do the work locally, hence want to take abroad/want to do some modification or so! Then they have ti surender the engine no. & chassis no. & took the car abroad & buy a new one & re-pucnh the earlier engine & chassis no. & re-import it.

The brown G-wagon in B'lore is G320 CDI & the owner also has done the same job.

Wah Taz Wah wah this is a novel trick but what with DRI guys on the prawl these days I suppose this would not be very easy would it hanmust? May be from the South ports what say? I suppose the reimported newer car is second hand?

So the papers of these cars will be saying some other year and when they try to sell the cars they have give one long/big explanation as why it is priced so high not to mention 0 classic value as the papers are inacurate !! I wounder folks with the kind of money TVS people have do this kind chindi chori! And straight walking people like you and me settle for the old G's with clear papers when is this country ever going to shine shish

This can only be done IFF:

it is a company car having a branch abroad, then one can transfer the car abroad, by paying some duties alone..

Then work can be done abroad and you can retransfer the vehicle back to the base branch!

Yes you can, if you have a company of repute here and in the country where you want to ship the vehicle too!
