Cars above 40L or with an engine above 3.0L for petrol and 2.5 for diesel do not need to do the road worthiness.
There are 3 Maybachs in Mumbai.
One that is with the mercedes factory, one with the Ambani, one with Manickchand's daughter.

The "road-worthiness" refers to the ARAI's homologation routine. The Maybach does not come under its purview.

There is a 3rd Maybach. Harshad Mehta had one. Don't know what happened to it though...

Dude I think Harshad Mehta was dead before Maybach was launched. He had a 1st generation Lexus LS400 early 90s.

Didn't really look into it, but I remember reading an article which described how he was driving home early from a New Year party in his Maybach when he felt the signs of a heart attack.

The Lexus was much earlier. He also possessed a red Ford Taurus (no idea why!).

If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Hey Viper,
The media is always wrong. They can never recognise the right car and love playing the guessing game.
