For pure indulgence, the car I most wish for is the Vintage Jaguar E Type in British Racing Green colour.

I mean, just look at it. How can you not help fall in love with it?

I would like to remove two more constraints. Namely feasibility constraint and technology constraint.

If all constraints are removed, the car that I wish to own does not exist and may not come in future.

After removing all constraints, my own car will be

1. Able to fly in air
2. Sail on water
3. Climb himalayas
4. Zoom on roads without friction on earth
5. No fuel required
6. Ride quality =(1/0)
7. Power on all terrain =(1/0)
8. Seating = (1/0)
9. Space internal = few acres
10 external dimensions = small maruthi 800 or even lesser
11. Colour should be variable.it changesture everytime I see or anyone sees

That's all I would need. A Ford Expedition 4x4. I'm a simple man.

Correction. It's a little over 5500 pounds. Would be about 2.6 tons.

But yeah, I'd like something on similar lines. If trucks are allowed, I'll take a huge, apocalypse ready, go anywhere, 6x6 expedition truck built on MAN chassis.

If not, I'll settle with G63 AMG 6x6.

Yeah, about the Ford Expedition's weight - I struggled to find a straightforward fact on it. I could only find a forward axle weight, a rear axle weight and a combined weight of 12000 lb. I went with the last one and figured that is its weight of approximately 5.5 tonnes...you're most likely right though. 5 tonnes on a SUV is ghastly and unlikely.

I haven't ever seen a car's weight being listed out per axle like this though.

Mercedes W116 the first 'S' class. When I was a teenager nothing said 'you have arrived' better than this car. It was the epitome of luxury, class and engineering excellence other than being down right handsome in a regal sort of way. It was the Benz flagship from 1972 to 1980 in an era when Mercedes really was the bench mark for engineering excellence. I guess impressions formed early in life last.

I don't think that the car of my dreams is even made, because it combines two aspects which the motor industry/market doesn't seem to see as belonging together: small and luxury.

Let me add that, although I would have no objection to good performance in my dream vehicle, it would not be a sports car. I'm just not a sports car person!

Of the handful of cars I have driven over the years, the closest to my ideal was the original Mercedes A Class. It seethed practicality. I would have given up some of that (removable seats to increase storage space, anyone?) for some added luxury, but not in a bigger body, as per current A Class.

But if I had a bank balance bursting at the seams (rather than one that doesn't even reach them), and the motor industry still shrugged its shoulders at my heart's desire... I'd go for a Bentley

(Actually, I wouldn't say no to a top-of-the-[world]-range Polo!)
