Nice looking car hillram. I guess the wheel arches look overkill due to the thin rubber. All you need is a wider footprint and a nice set of alloys to go. I was going to comment on the body kit but you already mentioned that its stock. You might want to get rid of the VW hood sticker though.

Nice resto work and a good color

Only if you could please change the bumpers back to black i feel it would look cool or if you could remove the VW sticker on the hood it might change the overall look. And yes a new set of BIG shoes a must for your beauty.

Thanks Pawan.I know you are from the adoring community of VW,considering that your Beetle is also in same colour.

Hey Ram Congrats .. Great Car !
I am a huge fan of VW Golf Mk1.

But am not sure if the front fender is a Mark1 .. it looks more like mark2.

Quite good enought to bake a Strudle :-)
Its a beautiful 1.8 Litre Diesel Engine of yesteryear era with DOHC and beautiful rear wheel drive.
Voila after the restoration, the beauty is ready for a drive.
But your post suggest 1981.. so was a bit confused !!

VW Golf is indeed 1981..now am not sure whether that would be a Mark I or II?

Buddy all VW Golf till 1984 are Mark 1 , 1984-1992/3 are Mark 2.
Cosmetic changes from Mark 1 to 2 - Mark 2 had bigger dimensions.

But I never ever came across a Mark 1 1.8 Diesel.

Between VW Golf in North America was called "Rabbit" - i like it.

Buddy, I still prefer you go in for that small black treatment on the bumper and side cladding.
