The 308 came as a GTB (coupe) and a GTS (targa top)

I guess that should clear the confusion. The Ferrari 288 had the suffix GTO

Good condition 308 is worth about $30,000. One of the execs in my previous company had a 79 model.

Same car twin turbocharged is the 288GTO.

Late reply but err, i was reffering to this specific one.
It is almost as good as building a car from Scratch.

Would probably better to dismantle the car and use parts to refurbish other 308's. A replacement engine alone will cost more than the market value of the car

As long as the rust is under control, it should be restorable.

If I had the money to buy this car, I would restore the rest of it and sell it without the engine.....The engine & tranny, naturally, would go into my Dolphin....

Devarshi,
sounds good.
If only i knew the owner (and if i did, it wouldn't be lying there).
Would be expensive to build it but maybe if i don't put the Ferrari Engine and just get the body, tyres, electricals and suspension and maybe a Corolla/Accord V6 engine instead.
But i need the car first because i have bee spotting some 2 generation old accords near my house in scrap condition and if i could get one of those.
Not exactly scrap condition but w/o an engine and body requires some work.
