Superb Bike. IMO Ducati has priced its entry level bike correctly. And the 2 years unlimited Kms warranty is also a big +.

Ducati has got the pricing bang on. Its priced in the same range even in the US and the 795 is a good bike for starters. Almost had my money down on this beauty before family threw water on my plans!

Re: Ducati Monster 795 : Auto Expo 2012

Thank you for the crisp pictures "parrys". It's indeed an awe inspiring Machine. This middleweight champion from Ducati has been always been great on looks. It’s known for claiming approximately 50% of the sales of Bologna. While I would like to hold my thoughts on pricing, I must say it is overboard and they should have opted for the CKD route. And no-ABS at this price point is an opportunity missed. Surely faces threatening heat from the ferocious future line up of Kwaker 2012-650R/z750, Yamaha R6, Honda CBR600RR, Triumph’s Tiger 800XC, Triumph Speed/Street Triple.

That apart this Italian beauty has got it all, Brembos, Showa inverted forks, APTC wet clutch, Dual Exhaust, 6-speed Gearbox, One of the best looking headlamp cluster & and an Aggressive and charging appeal. This baby has been going crazily mean, naked and winning hearts with every new edition for close to 20 years now. One of the best L-Twin's from someone who is more synonymous for their V-Twin's and sporting prowess. Bet you it's anything but an entry level bike, however a product for those, who like casual commuting and very occasionally get tempted to carve corners and slingshot out of it. A fair handler, any more and you should know how to fiddle around with the preload and rebound damping adjusters.

OH I so envy those who will be pocketing this rocket, I just don’t have enough dough to do so.

Re: Ducati Monster 795 : Auto Expo 2012

The price correction is a very welcome note. Only if the marketing and pricing team @ Ducati could have done their maths right at the first place instead of chickening to Triumph at the eleventh-hour. Unlike Triumph, Ducati can heavily leverage the free trade agreement between India & Thailand without denting their margins and while passing the cost benefit to customers.

Parrys,
Any idea as to how long the price would stay at 5.99? Duc would have had a winner if this was priced at 5.99 instead of 6.99. Pretty sure this would be due to the triumph effect

I can't help but agree. Even if it might not be, it does look like Ducati made last moment changes to the price in response to the Triumph. But ne'ertheless, its us who are to gain so I'm not quite complaining. Let the good times roll!

Re: Ducati Monster 795 : Auto Expo 2012

Drool-worthy bike at drool-worthy price? Only time will tell. If there is going to be competition the Italians are known to be aggressive and right now they have shown that they are not taking this market for granted just because they are Ducati (they could have), the brand has immense appeal in India as compared to Triumph, but this is not what they are looking at, which is good, again if the sales do not pickup, this limited period offer could go on and on, you never know if they get an excuse to reduce it further, but it all depends on their sales charts in 2012.
