Wow, the market for big motorcycles are surely hotting up!

I had one query for anybody of the mods. For the effort put in by the big companies how big a market exisits for these motorcycles. Can someone get hold of sale numbers for the following:
Kawasaki
Suzuki
BMW
Harley Davidson
Ducati
Triumph

2-3 years back harley was doing 80-90 units a month. All others combined were doing the same. so around 150-160 per month. My estimate would be 200 units for all the imports every month in 2014 .

Around the time street 750 was announced in feb 2014 , harley mentioned 4000+ units sold since their launch in 2010 so I suppose that can give some idea about the numbers on road right now for HD .

Indian motorcycle market is on the roll. It is good to see brands like Benelli making it's pathway into India with their global offerings. As a budding adventure touring motorcycle enthusiast my eyes are locked on the Benelli TNT 600 GT. This bike has all the good ingredients of adventure touring motorcycle except for the offroad tyres and that raw nature of an adventure motorcycle to take on any roads. No doubt Benelli calls the TNT 600 GT a sports tourer, that means it is more of a soft roader. Nevertheless it is a brilliant package with that sweet inline 4 liquid cooled DOHC 600 cc engine punching out 80 odd BHP. The fuel tank capacity too is a humongous 27 litres, add to that the cherry on top which are sticky metzeler tyres. She is a bit on the heavier side with 223 Kg but it doesn't matter much to me as my RE Tbird 500 weighs about 200 Kg. This is one motorcycle I will look forward to in the future apart from Triumph Tiger. Awaiting some official expert reviews of this motorycle.

TNT 899 looks gorgeous. I guess none of the bikes are offered with ABS/Traction Control.

Please dont call me racist, and throw jaundiced world opinion about Indian manufacturers back at me (ala Bajaj for KTM, Tata for Range Rover and Jaguar, etc.), but the now Chinese ownership and quality issues (fit and finish, misaligned stickers, etc.) is sort of off-putting for me first look.

Doc, according to Overdrive, the quality and reliability of the Benellis has *improved* under Chinese ownership.
I'll reserve personal judgment until I can sample both era builds. For the estimated price, they do look better VFM though, and with Yamaha engines, much of the reliability aspect should be taken care of.

Benelli, although Chinese owned, the bikes are made in Italy with the CKD models 'Make In India'. So I suppose the Chinese manufacturing does not come into the picture, while the famed 'Italian reliability' has also improved a lot over the past few years. From some initial indications, the pricing is going to be very aggressive. So I am hoping if the 600GT at an ex-showroom price of about 7 Lacs would be a good deal for those that dont need the litre power of a Versys or VStrom and yet less expensive than the baby Tiger from Triumph. Just my own opinion

if 600 GT is priced on par or close to Ninja 650 would be killer pricing and almost deal a blow to Honda 500X if it is launched in India .
