EICMA 2015: Indian Scout Sixty launched

Indian motorcycles has revealed the Scout Sixty i.e. the brand's most affordable motorcycle. It's powered by a 60 cubic inch (999cc), liquid cooled, four-valve, V-Twin engine that makes around 78 BHP and 89 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheel from a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The suspension is the same as the regular Scout and the bike gets telescopic forks with 120 mm of travel up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear with 76 mm of travel. Stopping power comes from 298 mm discs at the front and rear each. The front brake gets a two piston caliper while the rear gets a single piston caliper.

The Scout Sixty will be available in red, white and black. In the UK, the Scout Sixty is priced at £8,999 which is around £1,500 (INR 1.51 lakh approx.) cheaper than the regular Scout.

Re: EICMA 2015: Indian Scout Sixty launched

The Scout seems to be suffering from the Harley complex. I test rode the scout and the sales guys here in Chennai could only tell me one thing viz. Its smoother than the harley. I gave my Bonnie to one of the sales guys and asked him to ride with me for 60 kms while i rode the scout. I liked the scout except that i found the bonneville to be smoother and had better ride quality. My other gripe with the scout was the pricing, found it to be more expensive than the Thunderbird Storm from the triumph (If it could be compared).

I wanted the scout to succeed badly, My grandfather used to ride a scout in the late 30's and has regaled us with a lot of stories about the scout's legendary prowess. The scout being a CBU just killed the product.

2016 Indian Scout Sixty launched in India at Rs 11.99 lakh

Quote:
The Indian Scout is priced at Rs 12.87 lakh (ex-Delhi) and for that extra cash (Rs 88,000) you get a bigger engine (1131cc) that develops 100PS and 97.7Nm at 5,900rpm.

I would personally pay 88k more and get regular scout than Sixty
