Well it the post is really based on the road-test comparo. So I put up a poll just to compare the best of two worlds.

In terms of "whoopees for rupees" .....the R1 for sure. In terms of awe and sheer street cred, MV....senna

Yup. They were to launch the prototype in Munich at the Intermot 2002, but failed to do so. They had even released concept sketches and some sites had even shown pictures of the F5 prototype being tested on their test-track. MV refused to provide an explanation or provide comments to the press regarding the non-appearence of the F5. I once read an article on this on http://www.mcnews.com.au For some reason, I cant the PDF file anymore.

anyday R1!!! Simply awesome!! R1 for practical situations.....F4 is simply expensive and it would be taking care of the machine most of the time rather than ripping it hard and playing around with the machine

Simply expensive you say... hmmm.. your a newbie so I'll let you go this time.. .
If you think that the F4 is 'SIMPLY EXPENSIVE' then my friend you need a serious rethink.

I certainly respect and agree to your opinion but do check out an old roadtest I have linked in the first post. Its pretty much How a European superbike should be.

the F4 was made to be rip apart European circuits and roads. whereas the R1 is for those who cant afford the F4, yet want good performance, albeit not on the level of the F4. As I have pointed out before, R1 vs F4 is an unfair comparison, the F4 is just a far more superior bike.

Ranjan, its more of comparing a Jap rocket to a European one.

What other Jap bike would you compare against the F4?

An interesting point raised here and not the first time I have been asked that. In certain situations, like this one, it is best to look outside normal induendos go more in-depth. To compare a Jap bike with the F4, i would pick the (hope you are sitting down) the Suzuki GSXR 1000.

I know, if you can't compare the R1 to a F4, how can the Suzuki be compared to it!!! First and foremost, I would like to say that I am a CBR guy. If I couldnt get a CBR, i'd get a Yamaha, but never would I ever buy a Gixxer or a Kwacker. But somehow, I find myself in a not so big crowd.
Source: Superbike Magazine, August 2005 - Over 60% of N Americans who take their SBKs out on tracks and circuits prefer the Gixxer over any other brand, including Ducati or Honda or anyone. Price? Nope, coz Suzuki is the same price as a Honda, a little more than a Yamaha and way more than a Kwacker. But on the track, it outperforms all the other bikes in the same engine capacity. Thats right, day in day out the GSXR 1000 is beating Honda CBR1000s and Yamaha R1s and Ducati 999s all over N. America and is winning races and titles in a crazy fashion. I cant promise you if it will be able to beat the F4 Tamburini or the Mamba on the track, but it definetely wont let the F4 pull away.

I can understand if many of you reading this think I'm a retard (i myself am convinced that i am, after writing praises for the gixxer) but heres a fact: every top notch biker inthe USA and Canada, including Hayden, Barros, and Edwards have a Gixxer in the garage and thats the bike they take out to the circuits, not their Ducatis.
