Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S launched in India

Ducati had announced the SuperSport for India last month. Ducati has now launched the SuperSport and the SuperSport S at a price of Rs. 12.08 lakh and Rs. 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.

In terms of its design, the Ducati SuperSport is inspired by the Panigale and features similarly styled twin-LED headlights with integrated DRLs. Both the bikes get a full-fairing and the twin side-mounted exhausts. The wheelbase measures 1,478 mm and the seat height is set at 810 mm. The kerb weight of the bike is 210 kg and it has a 16 litre fuel tank.

A tubular trellis frame forms the backbone of the SuperSport. It features fully-adjustable 43 mm Marzocchi upside-down front forks and an aluminium single-sided swingarm with an adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear. The SuperSport S gets adjustable 48 mm Ohlins front forks and an Ohlins rear monoshock.

Both variants are powered by a 937cc, 90-degree V-twin, liquid-cooled engine with 4-valves per cylinder. The engine produces 109 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and generates a peak torque of 93 Nm @ 6,500 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

17-inch 3-spoke, Y-shaped alloy wheels are shod with 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres in the front and rear respectively. Both variants use twin 320-mm semi-floating discs with 4-piston Brembo calipers and radial pump at the front and a single 245 mm disc with 2-piston caliper at the rear.

The SuperSport range uses ride-by-wire and features like riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), power modes, ABS, traction control and provisions for anti-theft system are standard. While, Ducati Quick Shift (clutch less up/down shifts) and rear seat cover is standard on the SuperSport S, these features are available as options on the SuperSport. Both bikes get a full-LCD dashboard, height adjustable screen and an under-seat waterproof USB port. Additionally, customers can choose from three accessory packages - Sport, Touring and Urban.

The SuperSport is available in only one colour theme - Ducati Red with Ducati Red frame and Matt Black wheels, while the SuperSport S comes with two colour options - Star White Silk fairing with Ducati Red frame and Glossy Red wheels, Ducati Red fairing with Ducati Red frame and Matt Black wheels.

Nice machine if you are a Ducati fan. Typical Ducati manners. Great choice if you like looks of a Panigale but want a more practical motorcycle like monster 821.
