Ducati has announced that it will launch the SuperSport in India on September 22, 2017. The bike will be available in two variants- SuperSport and SuperSport S.
The SuperSport's styling is inspired by the Panigale, with a similar front cowl with its twin-LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights. It has a wheelbase of 1,478 mm and a seat height of 810 mm. The bike has a kerb weight of 210 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 16 litres.
The Supersport has a tubular steel trellis frame with fully adjustable, 43 mm upside-down fork suspension by Marzocchi at the front and an adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear. On the other hand, the SuperSport S uses a fully adjustable, 48 mm USD Ohlins fork suspension and an adjustable Ohlins monoshock at the front and rear respectively.
The SuperSport is powered by a 937cc, L-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 4-valves per cylinder. The motor puts out 109 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 93 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Both variants ride on 17-inch rims shod with 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres at the front and rear respectively. Braking duties are handled by twin-320 mm semi-floating discs with 4-piston Brembo calipers and radial pump at the front and a single 245 mm disc with 2-piston caliper at the rear.
Both models get ride-by-wire, ABS, traction control and an anti-theft system as standard along with three riding modes. The SuperSport S gets Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) system for clutchless gear changes and a seat cover as standard.
Ducati dealerships across India have started accepting pre-bookings for the SuperSport and SuperSport S.
