Kawasaki has introduced the 2020 Ninja ZX-10R in India. Bookings are open from April 26, 2019 to May 30, 2019. Customers can pre-book for a token amount of Rs. 1.50 lakh. Prices will be announced at a later date and first deliveries are expected by mid-June 2019.



The new Ninja ZX-10R is powered by the same 998cc, in-line 4-cylinder engine as the previous model but has a slightly higher output. It produces 200 BHP @ 13,500 rpm (210 BHP with the Ram Air) and 114.9 Nm of torque @ 11,200 rpm. It has three power modes.



Other upgrades include finger follower valve actuation with diamond-like carbon coating on finger follower, cylinder head ready for High Lift Cam, red painted cylinder head cover and Kawasaki Quick Shifter-Dual Direction (KQS).



The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is available in Lime Green colour option with Ebony and Metallic Graphite Gray graphics.

The new bike has 3PS more power than the 2018 version. Not sure if that requires an MY change, but still better than the usual sticker jobs from Kawasaki.

Good news is that the bike will continue to be a CKD offering.

India Kawasaki Motors Pvt Ltd. (IKM) announces the price of the new Ninja ZX-10R MY20. Riders can now own the roar of 203PS Ninja ZX-10R at Rs. 13, 99,000 (Ex-showroom-Delhi).

The price Tag of Rs. 13,99,000 has been achieved due to tireless working of the project team by using best material along with advanced technologies, which have kept the price under budget without compromising the quality and output. This price tag will help IKM to mark its dominance in litre-class Supersports category. Also, the budding riders who are looking for upgrade will find this litre-class very affordable.

Picked mine up on the 8th of June.
Clocking in the initial miles over weekends and early morning weekday runs. She stands at 740kms so far and my mind is blown!

Aren't you upgrading from the Ninja 650? How easy is it to live with a superbike as the ZX-10R as compared to a more relaxed machine like the 650, or even the Ninja 1000?

Well, longish journey of sorts.
The ninja 650 went and in came a friend's 250r ( that will continue to stay with me for a while).

I thought the 650 was perfect in every sense. I used mine everyday and for nearly everything, except when I had to buy eggs..

But I wanted more after clocking close to 20k on the 650. Wasn't getting younger and had a childhood dream to fulfil before it was too late.

Can't compare the two bikes really. If I could, I'd still want to keep the ninja650 too.

The 10r is just fantastic. Insanely powerful in stock trim, love the inline 4 symphony, my body is getting used to the extreme seating position and I do notice that I'm more comfy with every hour I spend on that machine. Initial impressions tell me that I should be able to tour on this bike. Time will tell.

Heard (from owners, but haven't been able to verify it myself) that the 2020 MY Versys 1000 is silently made BS6 compliant and is sensitive to normal fuel.

ZX-10R being the other recent MY 2020 launch - not sure if Kawasaki has followed the same route here.

The 10R has always been sensitive to fuel quality irrespective of what anyone tells you. With a 13:1 compression anything less than 95 RON is not good for the bike. It runs hotter and the throttle response is noticeably sluggish vs 97 Octane.

This was the main reason I kept my 650 for all touring duties as it gives me nightmares to even think of filling up unknown quality back-of-beyond fuel bunk fuel in the 10.

While this looks amazing - it will void the warranty so i doubt many will go for it. Also the huge price tag.

Damn i have been eyeing this. But could be the last thing to upgrade on the motorcycle. I2M is another manufacturer that has some decent options.

This 97 Octane we get here seems suspect to me. Doesn't it have a lot of additives? The colour itself seems to connote the same. That and 99 Octane are the only options i guess.
