Re: Kawasaki W800 Street launched at Rs 7.99 lakh. EDIT: Now priced at Rs. 6.99 lakh

After international moto-journos compared these two bikes, here's our boys pitching the W800 vs the INT650

Enjoy

You make any twin cylinder retro motorcycle stand next to INT650 and it will feel overpriced

While the purists may find this W800 to offer most authentic retro feel, I still feel it is overpriced for what it has on offer. Considering our market and target audience(who can shell out so much for a two-wheeler), one might as well spend a bit more and get a street twin or T100 instead(for retro feel).

And herein lies the problem for W800. It obviously can’t be VFM like Int 650, but it’s not super high quality, premium riding experience like Bonnie either (also going by international reviews, almost everybody said Triumph build is at another level). So, it’s in no-mans land IMHO.

You have to pick a battle and then fight it till the end. ‘Only’ authentic ‘feel’/‘retro charm’ can only take you so far.

Model year 2019 W800s are being advertised for sale on www.cycletrader.com (a U.S. motorcycle classifieds website) for between $7k and $8k (INR 5.6L to 6.4L) for lightly used samples.

This offer by Kawasaki India may be a good deal for someone in the market for a Kawasaki W800.

Cheers,
