The 2020 V strom 1000 is also a very capable bike, which I hope Suzuki brings in soon , along with the Legendary Suzuki Katana.
Sadly that's a very unrealistic price. The old bike was 7.5l and I am sure they will update the bike with newer electronics like how kawasaki has updated their bikes with tft displays. All that will result in a price increase not decrease. So my guess anything around 8.5l would be the ex showroom price which means slightly more than 10l on road.

Apparently just an engine update and nothing else for this version. Everything else stays the same as the previous one.

Oh. That's both good and bad. The instrument cluster does look a bit dated but it does show a lot of stuff though some people might miss the gps navigation that other bikes will have. So hopefully only a small price hike then. The bikes main competitor the Versys will be getting an updated display though.

10 L + on road will make no business sense for suzuki , if they want any kind of volumes. Also its too costly for a middleweight adventure tourer, no matter how good it is.
It will have the same fate of Duke790 . Fabulous bike , but Public expected it at 7lakh on road ( given the way the 390 siblings are priced in India).
KTM price it over 10lakh on road and it bombed.
KTM couldnt even sell 100 bikes and the lot had to be cleared with almost 3 lakhs discount.
Hope they at least maintain identical pricing for the BS6 variant.
If a premium brand like Triumph can do so with its Best in class Street Triple RS , so should Suzuki.

Re: Suzuki big bike range updated; VStrom 650 XT BS6 listed on website

The issue is there is no real competition in this segment. In 2019 Suzuki sold 116 units of the V Storm. The only real competition that the V Storm has in India is the Versys 650 as all the other bikes are much higher in price like the Multistrada 950, Honda Africa Twin etc. So if you want a powerful Adventure Tourer below 10 lakhs in India your only options are the Versys and the V Storm if you ignore options like the CFMoto 650MT which hardly anyone buys or the Benelli TRK 502 which is slower than a KTM Adventure 390. With Kawasaki increasing the prices of every BS6 launch so far it's only natural for even Suzuki to hike the price of their bike as well.

But Ill be pretty happy if Suzuki proves me wrong !

The V Strom cost around Rs 9.5 L on road in Bangalore prior to the big discounts in the last few months. So a Rs 10 L on road price seems fine for a BS6 bike. bf1983 has done a great job of highlighting the perfect slot in which the V Strom and the Versys 650s used to fit in earlier. There was enough of a price difference with the bikes above it as well in the BS4 days and with the new off road competitors above it going even higher up the price range, the Versys and V Strom make for even stronger value propositions.

The KTM Duke 790 pricing was along fair lines, the current KTM portfolio is more premium than bang for buck compared to KTM India from 2015. The expected 7 L price range was silly given our current taxes. Also the reason for the bike not selling despite a lot of anticipation was that owners reported a lot of issues with the bikes and the KTM service folks were unable / not trained enough to deal with them. Dumping 100 units on a market like India and expecting them to get lapped up without proper training of technicians could only lead to one result!
