Aoocci C6 Pro All-in-One Motorcycle Dash Cam with GPS & Anti-Theft - Recd on 21-12-2024 & Installed on 24-12-2024
So the Navigator 6 was getting quite long in the tooth and out-dated, in this era of Android Auto devices. I had heard good things about this
Aoocci (strange name) device and it was quite competently priced compared to the 50k they were asking for the
Chigee, which was it's nearest rival.
I purchased it directly from their website (no affiliations) -
https://aoocci.com/products/c6-pro-m...MK85Eky1cBKRw4 , with some online discount codes (around 30% IIRC), and the total landed cost to me was
14,595/- all inclusive. Very strangely, it was shipped by some warehouse in Delhi by DTDC and I received it in about 10 days time and I had to pay no customs etc. They must have very nice arrangements for India delivery at their backend.
This is how I received the
packaging by DTDC -
A very nice
Box inside -
Some
specs on the side which are self explanatory. It's supposed to be
IP67 waterproof -
The Box
contents - with Dual cameras, TPMS (which I did not install as my bike has it by default), all mounts and accessories -
Mounting Hardware for the handlebar was included separately -
A
closer look at the device itself -
Fantastic fit and finish and aluminium alloy body -
A
64GB micro SD card was included for free for camera recordings -
Metal cover to install the card -
Made waterproof with proper
rubber bungs for the ports. Also notice a C-Type USB port to run it directly, when the device is off the bike -
The
ports revealed below. All of very high quality -
Aluminium alloy back with integrated
GPS -
Waterproof power box to connect to accessory power supply (switched). Multiple options were given to power up the device -
With a included inline
3A fuse -
A
USB Type A power supply cord as an optional way to power it up. I presently use this method as I find it more convenient -
Solid Ball Joint to attach the device to the handlebar mount -
A
size comparison with the
BMW Navigator 6. Almost the same external dimensions with a much bigger display area -
Getting ready to
Remove the Nav Mount from the bike to fit the C6 Pro. These zip ties needed to be cut to free up the wiring -
GPS Mount power socket
disconnected from the bike's OE wiring -
Getting ready to
remove the screws so nothing falls in the crevices -
These
nuts have a tendency to fall and never to be found again... lolz -
Nav Mount
removed in 5 minutes -
The full
mounting displayed -
Both the Accessory power adapters were used including this
Denali one that I briefed earlier -
The
Nippy Norman one attached to the power box which inline attaches to the Denali connector as shown earlier. I attached this but eventually used only the USB connector one -
Mounting
completed on the handlebar mount -
Everything was neatly
zip tied to not be visible at all from the front -
The final Result. No going back to Nav 6 ever -
Maps in
full screen in android auto. Wireless connection -
Night View of the setup -

Found a way online to add
custom logo to the startup screen -
So I
Beemered it...lolz
The
Rear Camera View. This is an excellent feature and it continuously keeps on recording both cameras like a car dash cam -
Both front and rear camera views in one screen -
Front Camera View -
Rear Camera Placement -
Front Camera Placement -
Handlebar Switches to control the device. First one to Takes calls, Second one Switches from Camera View to Android Auto and back and 3rd one is to switch between the 3 camera modes -
Have been using it for a few months now and there is no going back.
Excellent in all respects except that it sometimes disconnects from Android Auto and then reconnects automatically after a few seconds. But this happens very rarely. I faced this issue even on my Pioneer 9" 6650BT with wireless connection, so not a big deal.
Overall a very satisfactory upgrade.
5th year service report to follow... Cheers.
5th Year Service - 3rd Service @8402 kms - 13-05-2025
So the bike had been last serviced on
28-10-2021 @4035 kms. It is officially supposed to be serviced every 10,000 kms or every year, as the case may be. BTW I was keeping a keen eye on the oil quality in the meantime. However, due to the low mileage it had been nearly
3.5 years since it's last service and with more than 4000kms already done post last service, it was time not to linger it on any further. The only thing holding me till now was the 75 km 'maddening' ride to the Lutyens BMW, Okhla service station.
So with
8327 kms on the odo, I started from my residence in Meerut for New Delhi, promptly at 6am in the morning, to beat the heat as well as the rush hour traffic -
I
reached Lutyens at 7.30 am. The dealership/service station does not open till 10am. But the guard was kind enough to get my bike inside and opened the showroom for me to sit comfortably in AC -
My
bike in their service station corridor, quite a mess -
The odo was at
8402kms, so it was exactly 4367kms from the last full service in Oct'2021 -
Meanwhile, I checked out the
1300GS while waiting for the showroom staff to appear. Found it quite underwhelming and seems like it had lost it's street credence. However the DNA was all there and I am sure it will gain acceptance slowly. This barebones bike was nearly
26 Lacs on road Delhi now (without accessories) and the
GSA, which is to be launched shortly, starts at nearly 28 Lacs, on-road Delhi (without accessories) going all the way upto 30 Lacs for the Option 719, on road. Add 2~3 lacs of accessories, which are a must for any Beemer, and the
GS Adventure now starts truly at 30 Lacs, on-road Delhi with accessories. No wonder, I got offered 18 Lacs for my bike, then and there! -
Finally the staff arrived and my Bike was the first one on the
service lift -
The service advisor advised me that there were
4 campaigns for my bike, which were compulsory to proceed further for the service. Most essential of these were "
Retrofitting Rear Wheel Swinging Arm Drainage" of the drive shaft or the cardan shaft, as they call it in BMW terminology and "
Checking (Testing) of the Cardan Shaft" and 2nd was the "
Replacing Throttle Grip" even though mine was working perfectly, besides updating the software etc. My bike was under
extended 5 year warranty till 05-08-2025 and all these work were supposed to be done
FREE of cost -
I gave my approval and the work started. All
service parts were procured -
I was flabbergasted to see the
MRP of the throttle grip that they were changing FOC at
Rs. 27,217/=. In all they changed more than
Rs. 40,000 worth of parts and labour, absolutely
free of cost!!
The
Oil Filter part# and priced at
Rs. 1942/= -
DOT 4 Brake Fluid priced at
675/- for 250 ml (for both front and rear brakes) -
Hypoid Axle Oil, or
gear oil in layman terms, 500 ml at Rs. 3947/- for 500 ml. However the bike uses on
180ml of this oil and I was charged pro-rata only for that volume. Thumbs Up to BMW -
The Bash plate was removed and the engine oil was drained and it was time to
remove the oil filter -
The
engine oil drained was not in a much bad state, as confirmed by the technicians, as it had been used for less than half of it's service life -
The
Air Filter, which I had somehow been lured to replace in the last service, was also quite OK, as the service life is 20K kms and it was just cleaned and re-attached -
The new
Gasket Rings and O-Ring to be used for the engine and gear oil plugs -
Engine Oil was replaced. It's specs are SAE 5W40, API SN grade, JASO MA2 and costs 1091/- per liter. 4 liter oil is used -
The Hypoid Axle (Gear Oil)
drain plug being removed, which uses a new O-ring. Notice the already opened Gear Oil filler plug which uses a copper washer -
Gear Oil being
drained -
Exact
180 ml gear (hypoid axle)
oil was measured. Its grade is G3 SAE 70W80 GL5 -
And it was
filled in by a special syringe arrangement -
Now it was time to change the
Throttle Grip, pro-actively under warranty -
The
old (on the left)
and the new one's, side by side -
The old one
removed -
And the
new one fitted. PS - The bike feels
snappier with the new throttle grip and these are heated one's as before -
Time for "
Retrofitting Rear Wheel Swinging Arm Drainage", the 2nd pro-active under warranty job -
This requires
drilling a hole (Oh My GOD!!) with this custom made contraption, with detailed procedure sent by BMW Germany. Notice the drill bit!! -
Here is this
contraption fitted, to exact specifications, on the rear wheel swinging arm -
It is
Made in Germany by Bosch. BMW doesn't do anything half-heartedly! -
The
drill bit attached to the specified drill -

Cannot understand why warranty wasn't denied considering you knowingly missed multiple services in between.
Most likely this is because the replacements were done due to recalls, nothing to do with warranty.
5th Year Service - 3rd Service @8402 kms - 13-05-2025 - cont...
The
drilling starts on this aluminium alloy swing arm (and My Heart STOPS!!) -
A
perfect hole drilled (Gosh! what a relief!) -
Exact 'Made in Germany'
Rubber Bung for this hole is supplied. This helps in draining any moisture or water that may enter the swinging arm while river crossings (which I never did and will probably never do!), and thus preventing any
corrosion of the cardan shaft (drive shaft) which CAN lead to catastrophic failure (and law suits...Lolz) -
Nicely
fitted in position with super glue. BTW, the newer bikes come with this already done from the factory -
Time for
Testing of the Cardan Shaft. This is where they drop a
bombshell on me! That, if the bike
fails this test, it cannot be let outside the service station, till a new cardan shaft is replaced (free of cost, of course). But they did not have a new shaft in stock and that could potentially mean that my bike was stranded at their workshop for days till a new shaft is procured!!
Another
contraption was added after removing the rear wheel -
Again,
Made in Germany, by Bosch -
And the bike was plugged into the computer and the
test starts, this time with a
Makita drill contraption (And my Heart Stops, finger's crossed!). Notice the ABS sensor was used to test any deviations -
Finally got a
GREEN TICK on the screen, stating that the bike had
passed the cardan shaft test and my shaft was A-OK -
Next all the brakes were checked. And my
Rear Brake Pads were found to be kaput! -
Absolutely Kaput, to be more clear.
Shocker - the new OEM one's were around 11K!! -
So, I put my foot down. And ordered these
Made in Italy one's from Pathpavers, down the road, which he supplied within 10 minutes and the service guys agreed to change it for me, without blowing a tantrum. This is the make and part#, sintered one's at that -
Made in Italy and just
3300/- bucks at that with warranty. The technicians approved for their quality, as many other owner's too had been using these for sometime -
New Rear Brake Pads in place -
Notice the
full friction material on these one's, which had 'nearly' completely weared off, in my old OEM ones in just 8K kms and I am not a aggressive braker. The technicians assured me that these will last more than the oem ones -
Time for a full
Brake Fluid Replacement, which needs to be done every 2 years. A proper drain bottle was used so as to avoid introducing any bubbles in the system, which may cause mushy brakes -
All
Brake Fluid was replaced and topped up with the fresh. Notice the colour of the new oil in the front brake fluid reservoir -
The final job was to do a complete
Software Update on the bike, as multiple updates were pending since 2021 -
This was the
existing software version on my bike, starting with 022 -
Updated to the most current
software version, starting with 024 -
Here is the
Total Service Cost I paid and all the parts charged -
A sum total of
Rs. 12,771/- (add
Rs. 3300/- for the rear brake pads procured by me). Not bad BMW, not bad at all!! -
This is the
Cardan Shaft Letter they gave me. Basically disposing off of their legal responsibility. They promised to change the Cardan Shaft at 60,000 kms on a pro-active basis, free of cost, during the service life of the motorcycle, in this letter -
Reached back home, in some maddening rush hour traffic, in the evening.
Next Service Date and kms updated -
8484 kms on the odo back home. All Checks were OK on the screen -
Same updated on the
BMW app on the phone -
All
parameters confirmed by my GS911 to be A-OK. What a tool! -
Bike was put back on my trickle charger for the night -
And after a refreshing ride next morning -
That's all folks! Time for my Tennis!!
I can't over state how happy I am with this bike and it's ownership and service experience. Every time I started feeling old (I am 56 now) and start thinking that this bike is too big for me now, one ride on it changes everything. You get the drift...
Cheers...

You may be right... But then you might be wrong!! Lolz
But seriously,
you are right, it was their legal responsibility to do these jobs on each and every bike that needs these campaigns (or recalls, as you call them).
But BMW basically does not blow many tantrums, IF, you have maintained the bike right, and something has not gone horribly wrong with the bike, irrespective of the conditions you mention. My bike had many accessories, extra lights, HEX Ezcan etc. etc. etc. attached to it, No Tantrums still!
And
hats off to BMW for changing 40K worth of parts and labour pro-actively, free of cost!
Cheers...
