I agree there is not much thrill in riding sbks in the city, but go to any twistys outside town and have all the fun you want.

Although many of these bikes can get close to 300kms, they are no fun at those speeds. (for me atleast)

How many times have you taken your car to its top speed?

Its much more fun at about half that speed around turns.

i agree with you tracks ya...you can but unfortunately at banaglore we dont have tracks

welll my car goes max bout 180 and i had the satisfation of taking it upto 170 so at that end i am satisfied but my bike :Frustrati nope even on mysore road highway was not able to cross 150

why i say its more of a show thing than a performace thing is becasue
not all people are maturared enough to take it to the tracks instead they think the public road is there track and try achiveing the maximum speed on them

last friday a very close friend of mine was admitted in the icu at manipal hospital because of this theory(tried overspeeding on kormangala form rd and landed on his head breaking the skull bone on an r1) though one can consider him as matured since he is got a 3 year old kid but than maturity does not comes with age well i have my personal experences as well where i tore off the whole muscle on my left hand while trying to take a U turn near my place on my bike and since than it better off with the mech and planning to keep it there for a some more time......

and yeah its certainly not rare now people dont look at you any more if your riding a super bike!!

At those speeds, forget enjoying the ride! You are battling the elements at anything above 150km/h.
I've seen some morons riding on the freeways at atleast 110mph. They weave in and out of traffic, and think that some video game came alive & they are part of the race.

Makes more sense in enjoying a ride,be it a SBK or any bike. Sane speeds, good judgement & responsibility make any ride worthwhile.

To bring this back on topic...

Here's me at the track in Coimbatore!

Tyres are crap dunflops... can't wait to finish them off and get back to michelins.. hence the burnout!

^^ U got a nice ride dude.. :thumbs up

if its dubai or some place else where road conditions are good than
i agree with you but here in india

sbk is a thing to show off usually

whats the use of a bike which is capable of doing around 300km/hr and does not even do 180km/hr its entire life and some times when it does looses its life by crashing(happens all most all the times) :Frustrati
so thats my point of view for you

Dude, my cousin has been riding SBK's for the last 25 years and even he got a bit scared when he touched 250 km/h on a busa. Unless you are a professional you will not have the ba**s to touch 300 even abroad, forget about this country.

Even if you do go that fast, you will not be able to stop in time. Its always easy to go fast but when you are on 2 wheels even with those double discs up front, you cant stop fast enough and its one of the most difficult things to do on a bike.

Besides, only kids think of things like "top speed". Thats the first question I would ask as a kid, "whats the top speed"? Not only when you saw something exotic but even while playing Trump Cards! :D But as you grow up, you will learn that top speed is not what its about.

In fact, I think everyone like you should lose interest in these bikes ASAP! Most of the accidents happen when people are trying to show off and that is only going to make things worse for people like us with the laws getting more and more strict :).

@ simplythebest, good pics there!
Kinda risky to try those stunts without some leather on. Good that you have a helmet, but some safety clothing would ensure nothing serious happens in an untoward incident.

I know... I use my gear on the track, but don't feel comfortable doing wheelies with gear on...

Have to get some textile gear for the normal riding as well...

spotted this busa at shell petrol bunk !!

Nice find,manish!
Quite a beast! I know this isn't the latest design, but is this new in town?

nope its some older model with a new ferring ;-)

Listen, do you even know why the veryron was built? There will never be anything like it ever.

Who cares what speeds people touch in your city. I wouldnt want to get into an arguement with a kid defending a kid :D.

We were all kids once.

Some of us try hard to remain that way.
