Rebirth of my Harley Davidson - DYNA

Hi guys its been a while where I posted the picture of my 2009 FXDC (SG Custom)...
I've been riding a lot in Houston,TX weather (90+ degrees Farenheit) ...

I recently did a STAGE II upgrade. Took out my cams from stock to "Andrew's 26s"..
If you guys dont know about andrew's 26s cams, they are for lower band RPM..

The band ranges between 1800-3500..
I got a new SERT (Screaming Eagle Race Tuner) and did a dyno tune..

My peak HP was at 93 and peak TQ was 101lbs..
This is much much better than what you get outta stock bone HD which is at 64-68hp and 75-78 TQ/lbs

I was amazed by the setup of the cams/SERT/my exhaust (V&H 2-1 big radius)

The only final thing missing on my bike is complete paint job...which I'm going to do pretty soon..once I'm done riding in summer & when the winter starts to kick in (although there aint winter around in TX )

Some mods that I did to my bike

1.Andrews 26 cams
2. SERT
3. AN BS (Arlen Ness Big Sucker) Air Cleaner
4. V&H (Vance Hines 2-1) Big Radius..(always go for a 2-1 pipes than 2-2, as 2-1 gives more back pressure, so its better)
5. chrome Front/Rear wheel
6. Chrome shocks
7. Chrome Front end
8. 5 3/4 headlight
8. Chrome swingarm
9. Detachable backrest
10. Chrome master cylinder kit
11. chrome stator

I guess the list keeps goin on and on..

I'll put the pics guys instead of talkin about it...
Enjoy & safe riding

Hey Shrini,
Great to know you have upgraded to andrews, are you still on a chain drive (cam setup) or upgraded to a cam gear drive... if you have not then you might want to unleash those 6~8 sleeping horses and or move to a timken bearing setup and trash the roller junk. I see you have come some way from the stock 68hp all the way to 93, good job.
Out in the states its so easy to make mods in your basement and take the bike around to the corner tune shop and get a dyno test, lucky you!

We are building one monster S&S 126" from ground up in bangalore

Yeah, I'm still on chain than gear...I'd love to unleash the remaining ponies/TQ...but for now i'm done for a while with my engine..
Prolly I might think of upgrading my 96's to 103's in the future...depending on how much $$$ i'm left with

BTW, I've been reading/watchin your thread on your build...
Goodluck with it...

That's a beautiful ride Shrini & no wonder you want to bring that beauty to Chennai; and YES, you should bring it to Chennai. The silver & the loads of chrome combination is awesome.

Jonny, I think you need to vent out your frustration on a more appropriate thread than hijacking Shrini's ownership thread.

I for one am a serious Harley Davidson critic (would mostly never own one), but not to a point where I would criticise someone's acquistion by calling it inappropriate terms.
Like it or not, Harley Davidson has been one of topmost 'marketing' success stories internationally. One of those that you probably do case studies on the fancy management schools.
For example sake, why do you mostly opt for a pack Lays chips over Balaji? Balaji is an equally good snack if not better and is packed in larger quantity than Lays at the same price. It is very often about selling a brand, and not the product as such.

Harley Davidson clearly is more about the cult, the experience of ownin a piece of their heritage and not about the latest cycle technology which even the top brass at Harley Davidson India seem to be mostly aware about.

If everything was about having the latest technology available, packed with cutting edge looks and bullet proof build quality I doubt we would really have a vintage and classic car section around here.

To each his own, let Shrini cherish his experience bud, take it easy.

manson.
