Well if Ford gets in what we are hearing - it will be a very very nice SUV to pick up.

That too in a budget of 25L ? ?? who would want to buy a scorpio or the safari when he has 25L for a budget?

The CRV it is for me as i do not intend to off road at all. I'll take a bolero or a gypsy for that.

Pajero! It's the only true off-roader here with capabilty, status, looks, the lot! The Endeavour is great, but, not quite as good as the Mitsu. The CRV and X-Trail are not my kind and the rest are just the rest!

My vote goes to pajero, because it is real offroader and sucessful car from mitsubishi. Plus it is diesel.

Nissan x-trail would be the first option. Excellent crdi engine and a successful car worldwide. doesnt look that bad either. sunroof is a plus

Vitara comes second.

while many may recommend and vote the pajero, ask yourself if any of the above cars would not live up to the bit of off-roading you intend to go for. though an excellent piece of machinery, its outdated, lacks abs and airbags for a car worth 18lacs and interiors are spartan now.

Pajero without a doubt, since SUV's are the subject and what better than the Paris-Dakar veteran?

The point is that there isnt much of a choice in that budget. You either have to go for the outdated but very reliable Pajero with ridiculous backseats, or the overpriced X-Trail. Thats about it as far as Diesels are concerned.

Unless you'd prefer a bone-jarring endeavour, that is.

Tucson at 15L is fantastic value. I don't need a people carrier. So for a SUV, or soft road SUV tucson and CRV are fantastic

You only have aged and overpriced Pajeros and X-trails at this price point - not worth it, IMHO.
Better stick to a CRV - petrol, not a great off-roader, but a driver's machine.
The new Vitara may also be good but its yet to arrive.

Devarshi,

I started this poll to find out what would people prefer if they have to buy something for themselves.

As far as I am concerned, I am waiting for new Endy. I have read reviews that it has improved ride however I wouldn't know for sure until I TD one myself. If it turns out that new Endy has a very pathetic ride, I might have to re-evaluate Pajero, Safari and CRV. I love Safari (basically the character that it exudes) and would have bought that if I wasn't worried about the niggles.

My problem with Pajero is the resale value or the lack of it and HM A.S.S. is not worth writing home about.

hey hondadude, i have had safari, also use endevour quite often, and driven scorpio too but rarely. Since you have the budget, i suggest you can go in for endeavour. but the last row seats are just to be left for kids or your pets if you have.
On the lower end of price, you can thing of safari.
