If you want to buy vehicle only from these two (safari/scorpio) I suggest you can buy any one based on best deal you find in used cars.

Safari for looks, space, highway use, comfort, good image by spending less amount.

Scorpio for easy to drive mainly in City, good image by spending less amount.

Among these 2 my pick is Safari although both score similar marks.

But I suggest to be very frank buying used Safari/Scorpio is not ideal choice unless you know the seller very well who you can trust.

You can think about Innova Petrol (If you are not going to sell it immediately and If you are fine with FE between 7-12) you can find G1 or G2 for 5 lacs budget in 2005 model. I am sure after couple of years If you would like to sell it you will get at least 3.5 lacs where as Safari or Scorpio you will get 3 lacs. Toyota cars (6 lacs km life) will last long than Safari/Scorpio(2lacs km life).

Regards,

Ravi.

Honda, since you are buying a used car, it is really about driving both the vehicles in question & then choosing the one that appears to be better maintained.

The comforts of the Safari cabin are pretty well known & widely acknowledged; on the otherhand I hear from Scorpio owners that the peppy engine is a sheer delight in city driving.

So, take the call after driving both the vehicles & go with your heart

I feel better used car one can find in Honda or Toyota.

Since budget is 5 lac and choice is between safari and scorpio I suggested Safari which scores slightly more compared with Scorpio.

About life of Toyota cars If we maintained well one can easily clock 6 lacs kilometer.
I think its same with Honda but since most of the Honda owners don't travel too much i havent seen honda cars with lacs. of kilometer. So I don't have information about it.

Regards,

Ravi.

Thanks alot guys

Even im a bit inclined towards Safari LX

but my dad finds a few CONS :

1. Resalve Value
2. High Maintanence
3. Seating capacity in the last row is just 2 as compared to 4 in a scorpio

Can anyone clear till what extent is that true
