Thanked: Once

Xylo has to grow up a little to match the quality of Innova. It is still a new platform, and hence bound to get a few problems in the long run.. I still remember when a friend of mine commented about the scorpio's A/C knob when it was introduced "My 1000 Rs coolers knob is of better quality than scorpios A/c knob".. Stick to innova...

what??? toyota's service is cheaper than mahindra's!!!

my experience says:

toyota innova 1st service: Rs. 1800/-
toyota innova 2nd service: Rs. 2600/-
toyota innova 3rd service: Rs. 2100/-

scorpio 1st service: Rs. 84/-
scorpio 2nd service: Rs. 1500/-
scorpio 3rd service: Rs. 450/-

Accident costs:

Innova's boot door dent removal & painting: 11,000/-
scorpio's new rear bumper: 4600/-

So, no oil change during 3rd service? In that case, what is the recommended service interval?

How can you compare a boot door repair to a bumper replacement? I think that's a totally biased comparison towards the car you want to promote.

oil change is recommended at 5000 kms and thereafter, every 20k kms.

i am not comparing both sir, i have had only these two accidental repairs on my cars, so stating both.

well, to compare, i recently changed my innova's rear bumper after a biker hit her, it costed 8300/- with painting.

Raj, please leave the Scorpio comparison for another discussion. There is simply NO need to drag the Scorpio into any & every discussion!

Chill People.
We are all biased towards one car or the other.
Back to the topic: BIL may go for the Innova, expecially after I told him the things I have read here. May decide soon. I am yet to see the Xylo myself, so thinking to check her out and see.
On the other hand, was speaking to Dad yesterday about this offer and now he wants to buy an Innova too! Was initially wanting to go for the Ford Fusion, now looks like two Innovas are joining the family soon, along with an i10. Well...God has been gracious to us.

As mentioned in my previous post, Dad decided to buy an Innova. But we didn't go for the old model. Have booked the latest All New Innova from Ravindu Toyota. Its the top-end V Model in Dark Red.
Delivery tomorrow...waiting...

Innova any day even its the old model...And more so since you are getting a discount of 1L...

The new model has only some superficial changes on the oustide....

Innova is any day superior to the Xylo in terms of refinement, engine, looks, fit and finish....

So its not really a dilemma

Totally agree with you on that. The fit and finish of the Innova can put a lot of vehicles to shame. Absolutely top notch. The only thing that isn't very nice are the fake wood touches on the doors and dash. They could have used a better color for the same.

There should be any Dilemma !!!
Xylo is CRAP - and Innova is the most Refined MUV.

Even without the discounts its still better.

A highly debatable first part to your statement, and the latter part which i agree with. It would be good if you could provide facts to support your statement, instead of passing blanket opinions.

There's no dilemma to be trapped in, buddy.

If you want the best, refined and a very reliable MUV, get the Innova.

If you want something cheaper with some compromises and an ugly shape, get the Xylo.

True, Xylo is new, cheaper, and some components cheaper (like inside door handles) .

Compromises -- Well what kind of compromises are we talking about here ?

Ugly Shape -- Thats a perception and NOT a fact. "Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder", Ugly to you may be Pretty to some. WagonR when launched was an ugly looking car, but the looks have grown onto us now.

Seriously OFF TOPIC.

Coming back to the topic: Vivek, congrats for the Innova, how much did you pay and what are the accessories + Freebies that you are getting. Upload pics soon.
Amazing vehicle, I would have bought it if they would have launched it in Auto box.

Bringing clarity to the thread

I get the feeling my Thread Topic is misleading people.
So to summarize...
I started this thread between Innova and Xylo since it was for my sister and BIL. They finally decided to go with the Xylo mainly because they didn't want to spend more than their budget.
Dad in the process decided to buy an Innova and thats the vehicle that's going to be delivered tomorrow

Vivek, i believe you would get to keep a close watch on both these vehicles, so feedback that you can gather from both parties would be quite welcome in the relevant threads for the same.
