HELP: Innova vs Scorpio vs Safari

Hello everybody,

I am planning on buying a car for myself and I am confused between the Innova, Scorpio and Dicor.

I am very keen on the Innova but presently we have 2 of them and a scorpio.

Can someone please state the major differences between the Innova VX 7-S; Scorpio VLX 7-S and Safari Dicor VX and why should I go for your Suggested car.

I like Scorpio's looks better. I am looking at these cars because of my usage which is mainly in the highways.

Comfort-wise undoubtedly Innova is great but at driving it in self sometimes it becomes too bulky.

Please help me by giving your views.

Thanks in advance.

You can strike out Safari from the list as two of the main reasons why people go for Safari is cos of comfort and looks, both of which you personally find Innova and Scorpio better respectively.

Since you already have Innova and Scorpio, A proper test drive of Safari will sort things out for you. Share the TD experience here and then we may debate about the trim specs of all the cars.

If he likes the looks of a scorpio then its over. whats left?

Please take the TD of a safari, and you would know more about highway comfort.

I think this is probably the most discussed issue in the MUV/SUV section. Absolutely no need for another thread. There are a 1000 + opinions on this. Searching existing threads for owner feed back and ultimately doing a test drive and keeping in mind the long term reliability concerns should be enough to make a decision.

I personally like the Safari. I only wish it was made by Mahindra instead of Tata.

All sales record would have been broken by now if the above wish was true.

that would have turn the sales figures for safari big way then.Still its a great product from tata and still carries that stance and appeal to many.Just what tata needs to do is give more improved services and few better plastics which is alreadyin news.
Prateek, as you already own other two's then why dont you TD safari as well and decide what suits you.

My two pennies:

Need an MUV/MPV/Family Carrier - Toyota Innova
Iconic SUV with oodles of status and features from two segments above - Tata Safari
No frills SUV (or SUV with Auto) - Mahindra Scorpio

Need all in One ! - Wait for Tata Indicruz or book Toyota Fortuner (obviously, finance allowing )

Specific to your requirements, I would suggest Tata Safari having used one for mainly highway use myself for two years and here is why:

1. The seat recline / stance is much more relaxed for long distance travel.
2. Seats are actually more comfortable.
3. DVD system is added benefit when traveling with family / kids.
4. Much more planted ride at high speeds.
5. A great cruiser
6. Brilliant Engine with adequate grunt in any gear.
7. More space to stow luggage with 5 onboard.

On the other hand,

1. It is a strict 5 seater if planning long highway use.
2. Indicruz is just around corner so it is expected that a new safari will also be due soon.
