New Year Winter Meet, Kolkata (January 2016)

Hello BHPians,

Its chilling winter and the roads are calling us again. After the successful last Kolkata Summer Meet and a few Impromptu meets, its time for a big one now.

So this time I have taken the pen from PapaBravo to organise this meet.

After the impressive meetings of few Bhpians with WBTDC's Managing Director last week, this time we have planned an over night family meet at Gadiara. Mr. C. Murugan (Managing Director of WBTDC) has assured us some special discounts for this meet.

The fine prints of the meet,

Date - 30th & 31st of January.

Venu - Gadiara Tourist Lodge / Rupnarayan Tourist Lodge at Gadiara

Meeting point - Our assembling point will be at Azad Hind Dhaba - Uluberia, morning 9 AM on (30/01/16). We will start the convoy from there till the Tourist Lodge.

Rate -

Double Bed Room (Non AC) - Rs.700

Triple Bed Room (Non AC) - Rs.900

Double Bed Room Ac - Rs.1200

A special 50% discount will be applicable on above rates.

Tax will be extra.

The prices stated are for the room only, food is not included in this.

T-shirt - So after LTD & Got-BHP what’s next!! This time we have planed White T-Shirt with red border and Black & Red Teambhp logo at back. The cost of T-shirts would be approximately Rs. 300/- to Rs. 350/- we will confirm within few days. Although we have sizes for a lot of BHPians, please include your T-shirt size again while confirming along with quantity. The proposed logo at back,

Are people going to hang around ahd for a while? In that case would join the meet as a overnighter is not possible for me. 😢

I'd also like to point out that the last part of the road to gadiyara is (or was two months back) in a really bad condition, once you leave the highway.

The place is really nice though, and the manager is very courteous.

I have to give it a miss this time, since I will be at Mandarmoni . Am I allowed to get a T-shirt even if I miss the meet? In that case I will collect it from someone. My size is XL.

The Final Assembly Point would be AHD NH-6 Uluberiya and I guess we shall definitely hand around there for a while over a cup of Tea (or breakfast) before proceeding for Gadiyara. See you there !!

Thank You for updating my name in the T-shirt list. I am sure we will get our T-shirts before 30th Jan. So that day will be a good day to greet and meet. I would love to collect it as soon as they arrive

Bhpians' who don't wish to attend the over-night stay can just do a day trip as well. The options are as follows -

1> Saturday 30/01/16 at AHD NH-6, Uluberiya, morning 9 AM. After the morning meet the main team will proceed to Gadiara.

2> Sunday 31/01/16 at Gadiara Tourist lodge morning 9 AM (for a day picnic). Anyone can join the party at morning for a half day meet.

3> Normal 2days meet on 30th & 31st Jan 2016.

Friends, it will be helpful if you put your name in the format below. It will help us in counting the t-shirts & rooms.

Thank you shomeshree for taking the initiative & apologies everyone that your regular organizer this time will just be a participant.

I had received numerous pings inquiring about the winter meet. I have been tied up pretty badly recently & have requested Shomeshree, Samba & AJ to help me out on this one.

The success of the meet depends on the turnout. Request everyone to share the thread as much as possible. Please send PMs wherever necessary. Share on Facebook & call up people if required. Share links on the last meet & impromptu meet threads.

I am still little unsure of my availability on those dates but will most probably make it. For now adding my name to the list :

Sorry to be a spoil sport, but 'One day meet' is also not possible as mentioned above. Since I will also be away on these two days, I would love to collect the T-shirt before the event or after the event. So anyone who will be willing to retain my T-shirt with them, I will gladly collect it. Please let me know form whom should I collect the T-shirt.
