After a successful Monsoon Meet its now time to plan for the next Winter meet. I am sure Kolkata bhpians love to meet each other quite often hence we have these awesome meets. Last years Winter meet was organized at Gadiara and people have had lots of fun. This year we plan to do even better.


Recently few Bhpians - BlackPearl, Avrendu, Himdarimondal went to Borong. Borong is one of the most less visited place in South Sikkim thus making it a perfect destination for a Winter meet. Yes we are going to the Hills for a meet for the first time . This time I have taken the responsibility to start a official meet thread, so if I miss to provide any information please feel free to add.


This winter meet is going to be for 5 days which includes 3 night stay at Borong. Fine prints of the meet-

Date - Dates are tentative as of now. The final dates will be based on vote
- 3rd December to 6th December (Siliguri - Borong - Siliguri)
- 10th December to 13th December (Siliguri - Borong - Siliguri)

Venue - Wild flower retreat, Borong. Website link of the resort - Wild Flower Sikkim

Rooms - Wild Flower retreat has total 13 rooms and can accommodate 32 people at a time. Which includes -
- 4 double bed cottages
- 6 double bed rooms
- 1 quad bed cottage
- 2 quad bed rooms

Distance & Drive Time - From Rajarhat, Kolkata it is approx 700 km. Travel time from Kolkata solely depends on the route condition and traffic jams at several places. It should be around 18-19 hours straight drive from Kolkata.

From Siliguri it is 150 km and 6 hours of drive.

Rates – Will discuss this later. Rates will depend on the room type and size. The owner of the resort is a very humble guy and has promised 10% discount to this Team bhp meet. Room tariffs are given here- http://wildflowersikkim.com/?action=tarrif

Meeting Point- The meeting point is 9 am at Siliguri on the given date. As there will be many people coming from different part of the state (and may be other state as well) we have planned to meet at Siliguri. To avoid confusion and conflict of night driving and day driving meeting at Siliguri seems to be the best option.

We have very limited seats so bookings will be done on first come first serve basis. We do have 3 months time but we need to confirm our booking as early as possible so that we can occupy the entire resort. So please confirm participant by end of Sept.

Prasenjit please keep it during the second week of December. First of all there is a holiday during the second week of December and secondly, sky will be clearer than the first. Is Zappo and his partner making it to this trip as well? It will be fun to catch up with them!

By the way, I will love to be a part of this one... its been anyhow 3 years since I last visited Kolkata. So maybe it's time. Too early though to know as yet!

I would not do that really. Even through the best of the road corridors that's absolutely avoidable (and I drive at least once annually across the length/breadth of the country). And for this sector, max you should think of is Siliguri on day-1, IMO. Unless you are telling me that the road conditions have changed remarkably over the last 3 years (since I drove to Dooars).

I am not voting as of now, as I don't do a 9 to 5 job and its pretty hard to guesstimate my schedule as things stand today. Hopefully, I should be ok with both.
