| Re: Team-BHP Meet @ Kozhikode : 9th - 11th February, 2018 Kozhikode drive: We welcomed: - Mrs_Bean and junior, making their debut - AkshayS, back with us on this drive. It was a delight to watch him push the Alto to its limits over hill, dale and plains. A far cry from the tentative Fiesta days, four and half years ago, when we first met at the very first overnighter, the forerunner to so many thereafter...  Kudos to: - 500ContyCruiser for his marathon drive from Dharwad to join us at Kozhikode - cmiuc for his signature arrival at the drive destinations, time/distance no bar this time the indefatigable duo made a synchronized arrival. Over to the pictorial: Ready to go  The early birds  Regroup point at Mysore, awaiting the others  Breaking fast  In the sun(lime?)light   Run (a)way  Lunch break @ Cuppa Café, Nilambur    to be contd... | Re: Team-BHP Meet @ Kozhikode : 9th - 11th February, 2018 As always yet another amazing outing! Chief really has a knack of finding the right places and organizing these meets. And his reward? Putting up with a crazy bunch like us! Since the chief has done a great job of chronologically capturing the essence of the trip will try to fill in with some of my pics too (Good time to test the new attachment process). Special Mention Pearljam received the best driver of the trip award. He received a certificate from the Kerala State Police, sadly the rest of us abandoned him when they were giving him his award Early morning 4:20am start and only 1 coffee down so far so camera has not warmed up yet.  Chief at the head of the table making sure everything is in order, this was at Mercure Mysore and the spread was really good.  This bunch sure does know how to follow a convoy (NOT)  Pit stop at Café Cuppa - Fortified and Chief in earnest discussion while the rest look on  Tilt regaling Diesel_convert with something that Im pretty sure cant be discussed in a public forum  I said food and this is the reaction I got  After a mix of scenic two lane highways and lovely ghat sections made it!  Our Dinning area for the next 2 days.  KiloAlpha has invented "Photobumming"  This is what hard core 3 Brake Horse Power looks like!   And this is what 2 Brake Horse Power looks like  Chief imparting pearls of wisdom on how to take pics with a phone  Everyone discussing the evening menu , I don't think it was dinner they were talking about  I think I saw this scene in Taare Zameen Par  After driving on tarmac time to hit the water   Shetty_rohan planning to go solo but can't seem to find his oars  Boat house that carried us across the Chaliyar river  And we set sail  View of the resort from the river  There is always time to pose during a birthday tea party!  The resort was LIT (pun intended)  View of the river in the fading light  Change of guard-Diesel_convert the new proud owner of the car that kicked off the mods on the GT TSi  Mr and Mrs Tilt  Our rides that carried us too and back home- Note the 3 colours of the GT TSi first generation when it was launched  And the steeds with their proud and happy owners  |

He underlines the fact that it is not the car that is slow, it is the driver. 2. Managing to stick to schedules despite a few hiccups on the way 3. Evening unwind sessions, where we discussed all manner of topics. In particular, the history and evolution of Team BHP and its rules. While I am not a photo taking type, here are a couple from my end. Birthday girls:  Paparazzi hiding in the bushes, taking photos of our cars  |

The pleasure was all mine - Got to experience Driving a Slow Car Fast Syndrome for the first time and had the time of my life! (As part of an un-aging group.  ....)Thanks to Ravi for organizing amazing meets all these years that have made my Fiesta days a "far cry". I'm really, really glad to have taken a chance with that very first overnighter in an untested new car amidst an unknown group of people! Long time back indeed....... And as always -  Here're a few of mine (although some really good ones failed to make it under the 4.00MB limit) |

I don't know how I keep missing these posts before the drive occurs. I've long wanted to be part of at least 1 such drive, so I get to meet all you wonderful people and experience convoy driving. I now try to scan T-BHP Meets page every once in a while to keep an eye out on the next Bangalore meet. Have sent a PM to the chief as well. Eagerly looking forward to the next one! |
